omg.. having to drive something else...

its painful having to drive my other car now.. its not a bad car.. an 07 accord EX.
We went out Sunday and I drove the honda.. first time in several weeks after driving
the FRS daily. It feels so diluted.. The car floats down the street.. no sense of tracking seems present in the steering.. of course it feels too big and heavy.. going up a grade it has to downshift where my car doesnt even strain or slow down..
Makes me appreciate the razor sharp steering and tracking we have... and the throttle response is so crisp in comparison.
It's not that the Honda is bad.. its because the FRS just feels so good !
This little sports car exceeds the sum of its parts..

I've been thinking the same thing... my mom leased a 2012 Chevy cruze eco and I thought it handled great, which it does, but now the pedals feel soft the steering is disconnected and I feel like im 10 feet in the air... and don't even get me started with my dad's 98 Lincoln navigator (air ride)...

I hear you

my other ride is a 2010 Mercedes and haven't driven it much in the last 14 months

I know what you mean. My Mustang feels like a tank in comparison. My wife's RDX, which I used to think handled pretty good, now feels like a big bloated boat floating down the road.

my 08 base Tacoma feels like the flying nimbus, if the flying nimbus was restricted to roads and can only float a few feet above ground. its so spongy.

I test drove my friend's Altima Coupe and the steering felt so light that I thought I was going to crash the car from the slightest turn of the wheel because it seemed like there was no feedback. I was sweating bullets going around the block...lolz

My 530i feels the same to me... except for the fact that it now feels a lot more tail happy than I remember...

I just drove my folks minivan after a year...
and I was just going to post the same thing. I feel so spoiled now with the frs lol

I drive a ton of rental cars when I'm travelling on business, and it kinda sucks. On one hand it's nice to park up front in a crowded parking lot and not care if some toolbag decides to ding the doors, but very few cars feel as nimble as the twins. I've had faster cars, but I've never had one that's more pleasant to drive, with the possible exception of the Genesis sedan, which is quite nice in a very different way. I'd rather drive my BRZ that feels like I'm driving a race car compared to feeling like I'm driving a bus with a big V6 sedan (like the Charger or Taurus) that might technically be a little faster in a straight line. I've had a couple scares on this one downhill decreasing radius highway off-ramp, because my BRZ could take it at 50-60mph, but it's scary to take it any faster than 30-40mph in most of my FWD rental cars, so I've come in hot and had to really brake hard to keep from understeering onto the shoulder, whereas I'd have been having fun if I was in my own car.

Some of the cars out there are pretty atrocious. People whine here all the time about how our cars are 'slow', but the majority of rentals I've had have weighed more and had less power. Try a 3,800# SUV with a 180hp 4-banger on for size. I think it's because the twins have the handling and power such that you really have a hard time getting into trouble, whereas a regular sedan with similar power and much worse handling makes you feel like you're pushing the car to the limit all the time, because it's so easy to get fast enough that you're at the edge of the car's handling.

"It's not a bad car" is the most accurate description of an Accord ever lol. They really are appliance cars.

Switching to my GTI, it can feel a bit numb and top-heavy sometimes. I try to enjoy the change of pace though.

A couple months back I had to get to work during a routine maintenance and this was what was loaned to me. Can't complain about a free courtesy vehicle but man this thing was slow. Though that was the last thing on my mind considering the color - doesn't show mud I suppose.

I've been driving a rental Sonata for almost two months now while my FR-S is in the body shop for repairs..... It feels like i'm driving some kind of land yacht. I even got pulled over for the first time in it when I was going around a clover leaf and a police cruiser heard my tires squeeling. I was going like 35mph.... thankfully I just got a warning.

I miss my baby so much... on the plus side I will have a whole new appreciation for it when I get it back.
