Are you referring to the distance between the pedals, or when you apply the brake it's traveling too far or not enough, and not on the same plane? When you apply the brakes, ideally it should be about level with the gas pedal.
A little high or low per preference, but you shouldn't have to reach your heel very far backward, or stick it far forward to catch the gas pedal. Last edited by wheelhaus; 07-31-2013 at 01:14 AM. |

a lot of people tend to keep the pad of their foot instep closest to the sole centered on the brake and try to hit the throttle with their heel. while this is "correct" it can take a bit of getting use to with the pedal arrangement of this car.
this also will create a sort of "roll" in your foot which leaves you sickling at an improper angle to hit the throttle. try sliding the pad of your food down and right more so that you are relying more on the area closest to your toes for the break and heel for the throttle. yes i'll get a lot of flame for that as you should always have a firm base when heal/toe shifting. but to get use to this i find it easier to start this way and work back to aligning your instep. once you get back to this you'll notice more movement in your leg/knee instead of relying on the twist of your ankle (sickling) to tap the throttle. works for me at least

OP, this should solve your heel toe problem:

Buy a pedal that attaches on top of gas pedal. Works great for me.

I' thinking that with stock brake parts at track speeds and thus the amount of brake pressure required (compared to street driving - however spirited), that the standard GT86 pedal offset would be just right.

You're not pressing the brakes hard enough if you think the accelerator pedal is too far down. H&T is for when you're HARD on the brakes and need to blip.

With 1K of all-mountain use, the pads are bedded in allowing a bit more brake pedal travel and life is good. Also, experiment with different shoe sole thickness, stiffness and width. Then practice during DD and within a week you'll be a natural.

I'm sure a lot of you has figured out that this problem of mine is during light braking, not threshhold braking. If I have to be threshhold braking on the street, chances are it means I drove like a **** lol. |

Cusco makes a gas pedal you can attach to make it easier to heel toe

if you want to be nitpicky, the gear change is right before the turn. Often times when I type things its like a mental vomit of words onto paper, so I don't proof read my posts, especially on concepts that are elementary considering that many people in this thread alone have heel toe'd for years |
