no, he meant the first production year FRS/BRZ are going to have the same 5x100 PCD as the WRX (which is 5x100 also).

What I meant is, I hope Toyobaru doesn't make it 5X100 the first year or the second like Subaru did with the WRX or the STI. Not sure which ones right now. But you guys get what I mean

Nope, don't know what you mean.

Mainly because you said Wrx "or" Sti.

02-current Wrx are 5x100
04 Sti only is 5x100
05-current Sti is 5x114.3

I'm 100% sure this car will be 5x100 on release, it's way too late in production to change a critical part of the drivetrain.

Except it's not even a critical part, and would probably actually be really easy for them to change on a whim. I don't think they will, I'm just saying it would take very little effort for a manufacturer to do.

Yes it is critical. Its less than a year from release, manufacturing has bidded and ordered the hubs for the car. The wheel manufacturer has already made expensive molds for the wheels. There are no good reasons/incentive for Toyobaru to switch to 5x114.3 now.
I've had to live with a 5x100 since 2006 when I bought my 2004 sti. And since then, there has been many more wheel options that have been available. And the FR-S/BRZ could be that push to get more manufacturers involved. 5x100 is more common than people think: VW, Toyota, Subaru (just 3 LARGE volume automakers!).

Some interesting info on this from Toyota Japan's website.

www2.toyota.co.jp/toyotajp/faq/entry/9129.php

Stock sizes:
17x7, 16x6.5
5x100 +48mm offset
Hub bore: 56mm (Same as other Subaru 5x100 hubs , expected)

Not to mention that Rotas are a pretty invalid argument... But Okay, I won't start on that subject

Nothing, but the larger center bore means no other Toyota 5x100 wheels will fit, that's all.

It's not a big deal, I was just mentioning it.

If you really want to run Toyota wheels, just take them to a machine shop and have the center bore enlarged. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying new wheels.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I will be able to wrap my current summer wheels in Blizzaks and make them winter wheels.

I know, but honestly have I have witnessed IN PERSON 3 cases of Rota failures on track. I'm not a hater or anything, I just wouldn't use these wheels on anything too extreme. I've had Works on my rx7 and hit a 2 1/2" high "road patch" @ 140 km/h... blew up both front tires, wheels were bent but didn't crack/shattered/kill me and were very easily repaired. I guess you have to see it aka live it, to beleive it.

AS I SAID, LETS NOT START ON THAT SUBJECT
