Bolt Pattern, Wheel Hubs and Studs
 

Anyone have any more information/facts on this yet. From what has been mostly gathered in the other thread, it seems to be 5x100.

But what about the center bore, will it be Subaru's typical 56.1mm, or Toyota's 54.1mm? Will the studs be Subaru's M12x1.25, or Toyota's M12x1.5? Will the lug nuts be Toyota-style shank nuts with a washer, or Subaru-style?

None of this really matters of course, but it would be nice to know if other Toyota/TRD wheels will fit the car.

It's hard to say whether or not Toyota/Subaru will even use the same hubs for both models. I mean they're built at the same factory and Subaru did a lot of the drivetrain (minus the transmission and differential, which appear to be more Toyota based), so they may end up all being the same. But on the other hand, they do things like this all the time, I mean even between countries and models, like the Corolla in North America is 5x100, but in most other countries the same models are equipped with 5x114.3, and on the Matrix the 1.8L models use 5x100, but the 2.4L models use 5x114.3, and they're built on the same line in Canada.

I guess what I'm saying is it's totally possible for them (and probably not that cost prohibitive) to put different hubs on different models, however it seems unlikely, especially given that all of the shown production models seem to have the same wheels.

Just trying to stimulate some conversation and speculation. This website is like at least 60% speculation anyways (that number may have been reduced with the added whining since the cars' official launch, haha).

Actually I am interested in this as well...I am planning on ordering some works or volks and would like them ready around the time the car releases. So knowing the lug pattern and bores would be helpful.

The speculations have been running rampant if you'd do some digging and reading there is information all over, is any of it 100%? Nope because the car isn't even 100% avail. to gauge those things.

It's 5X100 (we know that)

Confirmation won't come until the cars are released. Based on them all having the same wheels (at least in models shown), it seems probably they'll all have the same centre bores.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out, but my bet is on it using Subaru centre bore and lug nuts. I'm not sure why, but just from looking at the lug nuts, they don't like like Toyota nuts to me.

Of course this is all based on pre-production models anyways, things can change in final production. One would hope not, since Greddy and the like are already making BBK's for them, which would of course be different if the centre bore changed (for the rotors).

Waiting is probably all that can be done. Even if you did measure one of the cars now, there is the possibility it could change (however unlikely that is).

I'm interested in this as well. I work for a company that sells aftermarket Subaru parts, so I'd like to have some things lined up for the car before they hit the shores.

I know a few BMW specific sites did "packages" of OEM parts (they didn't hide the fact) but they made packages up and sold them to people instead of people having to hunt for the parts 1 convenience

Also, in the US the WRXs use a 5x100 and the STis use a 5x114, so the base FR-S/BRZ may have 5x100 but they may use a 5x114 for the STi or TRD editions.


note: 2004 STis are an exception with a 5x100 bolt patern.

yet more speculation ..I could say it is 6X155 or some craziness...no one is 100% sure until it is in black and white

Good point. We should reserve all discussion on this topic until the car is released and we know for sure. Then the moderators can just replace the original post with the figures from the actual car and delete everything else.

Do you mean 2004 STi'd? Because all WRXs have been and still are 5x100.
