Based on the tire size, I'd say either 7 or maybe 7.5. I don't know of any official info on it though.

I think I saw 7.5 somewhere but I'm not 100% sure. I agree with old greg though, it's goign to be 7 or 7.5 based on the 215/45/17s.

I'm not sure if this would help at all, but this Automobile Magazine photo shows the wheel at a bit of an angle. Looks like the tire is stretched just a tad on the rim. I don't have enough previous experience to be able to determine the rim width from that, but maybe Dave-ROR or old greg will be able to make a better guess. I'd say they were 17x7.5.

I'm pretty sure it's 7.5.

There was a spec page and I believe it was 17x7.5 all around.

Yep, that's the figure I've seen too.

What I'd really like to know is how much space there is between the factory 215s, the strut tube and the guard (fender) lip.

The details suspension pics in some thread (they've all run together in my head now) showed that there was.. and the fenders are prerolled according to the guys at the Scion reveal and some magazines, so that's awesome

Also, coilovers in theory should take up less space, so even wider wheels will be possible then.

For most people though, anything beyong a 8.5" wheel is going to be either for looks (deep dish) or autocross/track so they can fit really wide tires on the car... or for drifters to stretch 205s over a 10" wheel or whatever the heck they do.

fairly certain its 17x7. 215 is not that stretched on the width of the wheel

stock tc had 17x7 wheels with 215/45. same specs and thats how the stock tires looked on my stock tc.
