If you don't think an HID conversion with bending the squirrel finder is acceptable so be it. I did lots of testing and I'd say they are just fine to oncoming cars. Only down side I could find is diminished peripheral illumination vs OEM HIDs.

One of the benefits of HID lighting is supposed to be peripheral light spread. I'll sacrifice that one feature to keep the headlight enclosures intact.

I have seen bad HID conversion with massive glare, inadequate cutoff, etc. Mine are totally benign in comparison.

I love how people make blanket statements without doing their own testing.

The main point is if you bend the squirrel catcher down these projectors are decent (not perfect).

Apparently, nobody told the jerks at thecarconnection.com because they've already published a review of the MY14 FR-S here

I'm trying to find an email address to ask them how they were able to review a car that hasn't been built.

Plugged mine with epoxy glue to retain cutoff quality instead of bending the squirrel finders and weakening the hot spot.

But I agree, the stock projectors are decent if you know what to do with them. They are, after all, from the same family as the RX350's, except for different bulb hole and cutoff shield.

Yes... cause I have what I want now... and I would not change the color for any other... unless they offered something similar to my old mustangs Windviel Blue...

Didn't Scion use that car for the advertisement for the 13 FRS's before the car came out?
HID/DRL strip and all?

^ They also advertised with a pre-production car that had OEM foglights long before it was available as an option here. Don't get too excited with their photos, take it with a bucket of salt.

They should at least have the option. The JDM/Euro/Aussie lights are just so much nicer than the Scion headlights.

The standards actually make the car look a little dated.

I agree they should of had the JDM lights as an option to begin with, and the fogs (which are now available as option). However, their selling point on the 10 Series Scion FR-S limited edition was that the lights would be exclusive and not available on standard FR-S or to order in North America. So yes it would make me a bit angry being lied too.

Well, it isn't completely far fetched that the FR-S gets specced a bit better.
In South Africa, the Toyota 86 (available in std and high spec - your FR-S is somewhere in between the two) got updates;
STD:
New Head Unit,
Boot Floor Cover (we have a full size spare in the 86)

High:
DRL's
Spoiler (apparently smaller version of the TRD one)
Boot Floor Cover
New Head Unit.
