I just had one of those "voila!" moments.
I officially cannot wait to start messing with one of these.
An rpm switch and a simple voltage comparator circuit keyed off the throttle position sensor and I have everything I'm looking for by way of controlling this thing. Bypass the WOT switch, use the comparator with a relay instead, leave the arming switch, and I'm good.

There IS a switch to disable it. There's an arming switch to make the kit active. Generally, you just switch it on when you start the car, but you don't HAVE to.

Yeah I know there is a switch. I was saying that's all I would want.

Do you have to cut it in every time you start the car though. I wouldn't want it to cut off on its own.

Yeah, as it is, you turn it on manually when you start and turn if off when you park.

yeah i wouldnt want it like that, but it shouldnt be too hard to wire in a relay to cut it on with the ignition, then just have a toggle switch too. other people dont drive my car very often, its mostly me and I would want it on every time, but the times other do drive my car of if I know i want to save gas i would like the option to still turn it off.

Also what do you guys think about this HKS Intake.

I know its not cheap, but I would like to have it, just for a better sound and looks. it would definately clean it up.

And I am thinking about getting an intake soon just for the mean time. and I want something that I could use with the charger installed.

the other option would be the Weapon R (but it would have to be chopped up alot more.)

This one would be alot harder to make work, but those look like they are ther only two that have the maf mounted in a place that would would adapt to the ESC without much trouble.

Yes. Then you'd get all the benefits of the FTS, and use NO GAS AT ALL!!!

There is a switch to disable it, its mounted right by my gauges.

Once you get use to it you can go full throttle without the echarger.

Full throttle in our cars happens at about 60% pedal travel, anymore than that doesnt change anything.

IF you want full NA power go to 60 to 75%, if you want supercharged power go to 90+%

Anything you are going to have to chop is going to be a nightmare for fitting and tuning.

The reason this works so well is because the MAF is in the EXACT same spot with the echarger. Nothing can be sure if you change the MAF location and intake. This could be boarderline dangerous.

Also remember that the Compressor is held in place by the tube that goes to the throttle body and the tube that goes to the stock intake. The stock intake mounts to the frame and supports the system.

Remove the stock intake for something else and you would have to ensure everything is supported properly.

Just things to keep in mind, trust me i would like to get a big mushroom filter on there too just for the crazy induction noise that the supercharger would create by sucking 4 psi through one of those things

yeah I get that, I have no problem with that, I think thats a perfect activation switch, I just wouldnt want to have to disable it everytime I turned the car off and re-enable when I get back in.

I'm not sure why everyone on this forum wants to have it activated before WOT.

DUSTIN. ALL those kits you posted are hot air kits. Maybe they flow a bit more.... if the engine needs that would require testing. But any additional flow would more than offset with lower air density due to heat gained by sourcing air from under the hood instead of the wicked stock box that sources true cold air from the front of the car.

Thats true, very good point. If I do get this kit and no else has tried it, I may have to do some testing.

I would of coarse want to use some sort of heat sheild and run a duct to it too though.
