Ya, you were expensive

Although, pulling that stubborn halo off your head was worth it!

Batteries can be ordered and shipped for free in the US, I will provide links, or sourced locally.

Wow that must be crazy!

Glad lots of people are interested, I'm having a lot of fun with my car now whereas I was yearning for more all the time pre supercharger.

Yeah... Rob should probably be trying to keep this aspect on the down-low.

I went through a LOT of gas with mine as well. Not because the blower makes the engine less efficient or any such thing... but simply because it's too much fun so you find yourself at WOT a lot more than you otherwise would.

I expect this probably abates after a few weeks once sanity is restored.

I forget, did you set yours up for full wide open or 75% and up?
I'm curious if 75% provides some of that throttle control we are hoping to get over on the open source thread.

Technically, it would provide a little control but I have my doubts as to how noticeable it would be. The difference in the restriction of the TB between 75% and WOT is probably somewhat negligible compared to the difference in power you're going to get when the FTS kicks in. I think the bigger advantage will be simply in the feel of it. You won't have to feel like you're mashing the pedal to the floor to get the power boost you want.

I think what some of us are looking for is a little control at the edge. With the blower running full out, the throttle plate is the restriction, so for that last 25% of throttle opening, it really should behave like a bigger motor. It would be nice if that selection was more adjustable. If you wanted to bump up your electrical to handle it and put slightly larger batteries, you could tweak the switch point a little lower to get a little more throttle range under boost or if you wanted it to take longer to turn on, you could raise it a little. Making that engagement point more adjustable would resolve a lot of issues.

I think it would be great if it was activated only at a select RPM. Say 4500rpm.

I do most of my putting arround below this RPM. it would be nice to be able to hit full throttle below this RPM or another selectable RPM and not have the e-charger kick in.

but then once past the selected RPM... BOOM e-charger greatness (it would also feel kinda like v-tec kicking in - i loved how the b-18 engine felt in my old CRX)

You could use a simple RPM window switch as used in nitrous applications for this

I wouldn't want that personally. I like idea of having the power there if I wanted to pass someone on the interstate without down shifting.

I just think it would be a good idea to have small switch somewhere to disable it.
