Care to link an example? I just searched "gdi chirp" and came up with nothing you promised.

Nobody is arguing the ticking mechanical noises, it's the nest of crickets that's an "issue".

And don't link me some Chrysler with maladjusted belts.

I'm not down playing anything we're all in the same boat.. I'm simply stating its normal and I'm not upset about it.. We'll see if subaru/toyota have a "magical" pump that will FULLY eliminate this noise.. I have my doubts.. Is there a person whose got mechanical issues due to a noisy pump?

No pump failures, just noise. There's a guy who's car caught on fire following a replacement pump, probably due to bad installation.
