Why mod at all?
Save your moolah, put it in the bank.
I like the car the way it is Just learn to drive it and have fun doing so. It's unique enough that you don't have to put on a different antenna nor mud flaps (unless you drive in mud a lot), nor clear gizmos on the doohickeys.

Just have fun driving it

Incorrect, they use whatever method on hand that's quicker, Vascar, radar, or laser, predominantly today they still use Radar, Lidar is less widespread but still used quite a bit, Valentine One makes a system that can detect both.

Also high end radar detectors like the V1 provide very basic laser detection (obviously if it hits you, you're fucked but it can detect defracted laser traces from other cars getting lasered as well, so you can sometimes know that laser is being used up ahead.

That said I don't currently own one. Im planning on buying a Valentine 1 in the near future so id like to hear more opinions on this. Anyone?
A laser jammer like the blinder extreme or Laser Interceptor could help but, if you do use them you should set them to jam for a couple seconds only so you can return to a normal speed in time and then turn the jammer off otherwise the cops will infer something

JDM Knee pads, does wonders for comfort on long drives (at least for me). There is a DIY here to install them, very easy to do, and really up-class the interior.

I was in your boat when I started, this is the first car I have ever modded. I went for simple things such as changing the side markers, exterior LED lights, weathertech floor mats, and the Escort 9500ix radar detector. I also changed out my headunit for a better one and bought some JPM coachworks interior pieces to give the car a better feel.

I also put on a catback exhaust and eventually shelled out for coilovers, which in your case might be too much since you want to preserve your warranty. I am not a fan of TRD parts which I know dealers install to preserve the warranty, but I believe they are overpriced and usually you can find better value.

Next mod is the Katzkin leather seat replacements which should be in by the end of the week and installed in the next week or so.

Be careful though, the modding bug bites and it bites hard.

Check out my build thread. Everything listed is in order (only in each category). I had never modded a car before this one, but as you can see I started 100% cosmetic and slowly started to move into performance upgrades. I suggested switching out all lights for LEDs, not too expensive and it's a good look. Air intake helps, and it's not that hard to install. Etc etc.

I know this is a weird line to draw in the sand, but laser jammers go beyond my comfort level.

Radar detectors I'm fine with but laser jammers seem somehow "more illegal" to me. I'm afraid if I had one and I got stopped with it, it would turn into a major situation.

Fortunately they're both legal here haha

Started with a replacing the stock antenna with a 3 inch shorty, and then added 50/35% tint to clean up the exterior look. Next, I'm going to try and focus on interior comfort i.e. sound proofing and armrest.

They have a kit that comes with the amp/sub and tweeters and a kit coming with that plus all the other speakers. Huge upgrade in sound quality.

I also put some stinger roadkill in the doors to stop rattles and make it quieter.

They are 100% legal as well as the laser veil coatings for headlights so it can refract the laser easier, if the cop is well versed in the tech he will be suspicious if he continually lasers you and gets no reading that's why you slowdown when you detect a laser hit and jam them till you reach the speed limit, even if they stop you they can't do anything about it.

Did having the roadkill only in the doors make a significant difference? I'm considering which parts of my car to apply then.
