Window tint, a degree darker than legal...It stops the sun from causing a glare on the BRZ's screen.

Yes, things are quieter in the cabin. With it in it's not too noticeable till you get up near 4,000 rpm's. Then things in the cabin become much louder. As far as I'm concerned it was nothing more than a marketing gimmick by Toyota to give people the zooooom sensation. The money they spent on it would have gone a lot further for a nice arm rest/console cover.

As for interior JPM Coachworks as everyone else has said make good interior parts. As of right now I can see 4 TRD parts in the current catalog which are costly but you can order from your dealer and they will install as said before:http://www.toyotaracing.com/trd/cata...g_lowres_R.pdf

The Catback exhaust system adds less than 5 hp Part # PTR03-18131
Front and rear springs from TRD if you want to lower the ride high and lower the center of gravity for better handling Part #PTR07-18130
Rear sway bars make the car lean less when cornering part # PTR11-18130
and the TRD Cold air inake which in independent dynos added only 2.5 whp but add alot more engine noise even with the deletion of the sound resonator tube: #PTR03-18130

There are people here that have probably heard of more in development especially with the TRD Griffon race car coming out of prototype phases. But those are your best best, and I must warn you there are quite pricey

Nobody has said it yet:

Short throw shifter. It's inexpensive, not THAT difficult to install and it'll change the feel of your shifting substantially. Also the install replaces some of the stock bushings with better ones so you get less vibration and a more solid shift.

I haven't done it yet but its on my short list. I've heard good things about Kartboy and a member on here did a really thorough review of the short throw kit.

Good luck!

Also good insurance would be buying a radar detector especially with the Firestorm curse , use of a radar detector in a passenger vehicles is legal in all states with the exception of Virginia, Washington DC and while driving on military bases. But its legal in California in your case as well.

Id love to hear more opinions on this because I think youre mistaken.

I thought most precincts couldn't afford laser for everyone.

Also high end radar detectors like the V1 provide very basic laser detection (obviously if it hits you, you're fucked but it can detect defracted laser traces from other cars getting lasered as well, so you can sometimes know that laser is being used up ahead.

That said I don't currently own one. Im planning on buying a Valentine 1 in the near future so id like to hear more opinions on this. Anyone?

Let’s see .... some simple things are splash guards (mud flaps); even unpainted, I think they look OK and they are functional.

You might consider painting the muffler flat black (makes it less visible).

Wheel locks may give you some peace of mind.

As mentioned, the BRZ trunk lid liner sure dresses up the trunk.

you should visualize a total look and theme for your car. Flow is so important, its what keeps the "clean" look. Some people have a good sense of design, and some just wants to stand out and be different.

So a lot of my interest would probably be in the cosmetic/luxury type upgrades such as LED lights, leather seats, push button entry/start.

Which upgrades like these have you made that you like the best and is it easy to have it done through the dealer? I'm guessing I'd want to do that to preserve my warranties. Although I think many cosmetic modes don't impact warranty like a supercharger would.

Thanks for any info!
LED lights, leather seats, push button entry/start? Don't want to start a fight here but it sounds like you might have been better off in a BRZ in the first place.

JDM tips really complete the look if you're not going with an exhaust atm. That was the first mod I did when I got my BRZ.

Honestly the best protection is looking ahead, that being said...

My V1 is actually quite useful in Chicagoland. It's true that in IL the State Police (especially on the tollways) are always using LiDAR. I've learned that 90%+ of the time municipalities, especially the CPD's "traffic enforcement", are broadcasting KA. My V1 does a nice job sniffing out the speed traps on LakeShore Drive!

Most cops are lazy and don't use LiDAR, Instant-On, or VASCAR
