Perhaps back off where they fine tuned it, to a safe level, to allow for differences but still have a decent base map for the set up?

As far as I understand it, most tuners are leaving in that "safety margin" out of the gate. Some tunes remove the margin by making the advance multiplier 1, but the stock tune, Visconti's tune, etc leave the multi at 0.7. This means right after reflash, it's only utilizing 70% of the timing advance table. As high load events occur without detonation, it feeds in more advance over time. This is why the stock tune feels so "sloppy" after a reset, soft pedal, etc.

I could be totally wrong, so feel free to correct me here pro's... but if i'm understanding the multiplier right, that safety net should cover discrepancies in vehicle, local octane, etc.

I'm sure they'd prefer to back off timing a bit before they sent it over. Only other variable would be the Maf calibration for your local area(providing you're using the same exact intake in the first place).

still, that plot looks pretty nice. Especially since you're using 92 octane.
I just read it, it's impressive ! Too bad we are not running on the same dyno orelse we will have a pretty good comparison.

Bob at Drift office showed me quite of different setups which he dynoed so I think figures will be much realistic for comparison on the same dyno

Do you think using a straight silicon intake tube as opposed to the wavy one would solve that issue? I assume it wouldn't as it is located after the MAF.

That's a great looking curve after the dip. Nice and smooth, just like all damned torque curves should be. Watch out for the jaggies!

If there's enough interests, we can build a CATTED Front pipe

So for warranty purposes, after a tune, is there anyway to switch the car back to normal when taking it to the dealership to make it seem as if no modifications were made?

Yes, just reflash the stock rom. If the dealer REALLY wanted to check for a reflash, they would have to send the ECU back to Toyota or possibly even Denso to prove it. I have never seen them actually do this though.

Not sure if ECUtek pulls its flash counter from the same location, but I had a flash fail once and after re-installing the ecutek license on the ECU my flashcounter referenced in ProECU was reset as well.
