The basemap is definitely safe at the wastegate pressure of 7 to 8 psi. It starts getting a little less safe at 10 psi, but it is still safe to run. I have logs from both, and John told me a similar story.

I have an FBM kit and received a base map and a revised tune and while it was drivable, it wasn't particularly pleasant. That's what I expect from an etune. It's far better to actually get on a dyno.

Thanks for your honesty. Our maps are always improving with Ecutek's constant updates. Along with all the logs that our customers have been shooting over to us.

I agree, it is always better to have the car dialed in on a dyno. That is why we do not charge for E-tunes or basemaps ,what ever you want to call it

If you need help or have any questions/concerns, please shoot them over to us along with a log.

While I agree to a point with you on this, your statement isn't entirely true.

Before I got this car, I thought the same thing basically. But a base tune and an etune are completely different.

Base tune - kind of like a cobb OTS tune, a generic "one size fits all" tune.

etune - datalogs back and forth with a tuner, who is specifically changing certain parameters for your particular car.

I am still a huge fan in a dyno tune and having someone dial it in on a dyno...but after owning this car and having etunes done, and recently getting my girlfriends stage 2 wrx etuned from torqued performance, I feel confident in having it done and the car driving as intended.

My girlfriends car feels better than many wrx/sti's ive been in with protunes on the dyno.

Just clearing something up here

LJ didnt just gave me a base map.

We went back and forth with datalogs and all till we got a good tune for 7.5 psi than we started again at 11 till he told me that we were all good and safe to drive

My post had nothing to do with your postings, and I didn't mean to come off like he sent you a base map with your final tuning solution you are running right now. BUT, FBM DOES send a "base" map for everyone who buys the kit, which is exactly what I was describing.

Fuel trims are not perfect at all..... Idle still hits -27 cruise it swings between -20 and +35.. not even close to perfect. It may go into boost ok and start ok, but considering it still idles at 950 rpm hot and the trims are absolutely all over place your tune and your car are far from done man.

I think you should have kept working with Toni to sort it out. And you still have a mechanical issue.

I saw that on some logs, but my tuning knowledge does not go that far. I just knew it was weird and so so different than what my logs showed.

So.. sorry for the referral man lol

Anyway, He still has the same issues. I think he was hitting boost cut on your base map (he was boosting .7 - .8 bar on your base map) before you had a chance to dial it in for him

Idle is still 950 rpm hot, trims on the full blown tune are worse than what i saw on your base map ( -27 at idle range from -20 to +35 at cruise).

He's got some mechanical issues that need to be sorted before any tune is going to be solid.

Hes tune was fine at the beginning but after my issue he just couldnt get it right
So i went and tried toni from fA20
He was saying that i had a mechanical issue and thats why i had a rough start and starting problem

So i ask LJ @FullBlown and he offered to help me
He sent me a base map
And boom car started right up,
We did some datalogs he touch it up and all after just 1 datalog my car was running perfect at 7-7.5 psi.

No rough idle or hard start

Now we are at 11 psi and my AFR and Fuel Trims are perfect,
No rough idle or Hard Start at all
Car pulls so nice and i really dont wanna stop driving it and the best part was that it was Free yes Freee!!!!!!!!

I spent 1000.00 on Both tuners and let me tell you, what a waste of Money

So all you Existing and New Full Blown Customers
Talk to Lj about Tuning, you wont regret it
So, I know you really want your car sorted out man, it has been a long frustrating road i am sure. But it is not "fixed". It may run ok under boost but you still have serious fuel trim issues at idle and cruise.

You mentioned it has always idled at 900 rpm since the turbo install and stated some other turbo's were seeing the same idle.. i guess that is normal... However, i see no reason in the world why that should be normal but if some others can chime in and that does turn out to be normal... you can cross that off the list of symptoms.

As i said from the begining, your car, your money, your choice. If your happy with the car now that great but please be aware you still have some issues to sort out and please keep an eye on your data logs for the sake of your motor.
