It might not hurt to ask. But I don't see an actual TSB number on either of the two pages.

That's the best part makes me want to punch a wall, the question is has this or will this be rolled out in America and/or other regions other than South Africa. Also are TSBs and maintenance done to vehicles in the lot awaiting sale? Like do they update the ECU and what not if its sitting in there about to be sold?

Also I do recommend someone showing that document to someone in the U.S. high up if it hasn't been done, even on the dealer level like you @suaveflooder show them that if you can. It seems in South Africa the issue is that the ignition timing might be advanced too far when the other set of injectors kick in? Idk maybe someone with balls can mess with the tune to see if this fixes the issue

Also I am pretty sure if you do have any aftermarket mods and you get an injector failure and something breaks, you can be sure the dealer will probably do there best to try and blame it on your exhaust, intake etc unless there nice. Just so they won't have to do anything or shell out cash in the worst case scenario when a new short block is required (IF THIS IS LEGIT!)

Miata is shedding weight (rumor is sub 2,500 lbs or thereabouts) and getting a SkyActiv motor which should retain current power output (or near enough) while increasing efficiency and fuel mileage. It's losing weight while retaining power? It'll kick 86 ass if the projections are half true.

Alfa Romeo is going to bring back the Spider based on the new Miata platform, likely upscale from the miata (but under $40k), likely with it's own Italian engine, the MultiAir is awesome and sounds like what every sports car dreams it could, seriously go drive an Abarth.

Mustang is also rumored to be shedding weight while getting EcoBoost, similar bump in performance expected as the Miata and it's already faster than the Toyobaru.

Fiesta ST should be in the dealer showrooms this fall, weighing in at under 2,600 lbs with 197hp and 214 ft-lbs of torque for under $23k it should give the Abarth and GTI hell while being a 4 door and getting better fuel economy than we do.

I believe the new GTI is due to hit dealers within the next year and I wouldn't be surprised if the Genesis has a refresh as well. Nissan is rumored to have a "mini-z" coming in around the <25k price point but the speculation on that is wild anywhere from a "sporty" FWD Mini cooper thing to a 240z/sx revival to an awd wagon depending on who you talk to.

The Chevy 130R concept is a lightweight RWD coupe (the Caprice nameplate has been kicked around) which has potential but nothing worth betting on. They could however surprise everyone with an announcement within the coming months.

This is all off the top of my head and I'm not terribly interested in new vehicle development so pardon any inaccuracies or blatant omissions. I bet $5 that the new Miata and Mustang will be forces to reckon with although 3-6 months is a bit early, I'd say a year before concrete details are available.

Edit: Of course I forget something, Rice Classic mentioned the Alfa Romeo 4C but I think that'll come in close enough to $40k (likely over that when everything is said and done) that it's out of the budget for comparing to an 86, at that point you can get a NICE Cayman R, Boss 302, BMW 1, or Corvette all made within the last 5 years.

Unfortunately none are rwd sport coupes but seeing as how I already have a racecar I don't care if my daily driver is a rwd sport coupe, well except for the Alfa.

2014 Mazda 3
2014 Mazda 6 Diesel
2014 CX-5 Diesel
Alfa 4C (may be longer than 6 mo)
Wait a little longer and the 2015 MX-5
Fiesta ST

Shoot.. if I'm going to have an engine that grenades when I'm driving it on the track and the dealerships refusing to warranty it then I might as well have an Alfa!

I'm not really worried about the FRS honestly, and I do like the car but.... I'm starting to debate if I need a 2 door underpowered sport coupe and a race car. Yeah yeah yeah.. 1st world problems, I know.

Heard about most of this really cool
1) The skyactiv way which is being fed into the brand relies on weight shedding not only does it make there cars handle better, but it increases there fuel economy
2)The Spyder using the miata platform from Alfa is news to me will be looking into that
3) Heard about the mustang with the ecoboost engine and heard some of the test mules on youtube, supposedly losing all the retro touches
4) Fiesta ST coming straight from the Euro market without any changes except LHD going to be pretty interesting against the other hot hatches
5) Heard something about a mini-z somewhere can't remember, might be in the works to show up when the Datsun brand might be revived
6) And the 130R will be another enemy to the BRZ/FRS twins if it does ever come through but it will make that segment get better and better

Nice ones sorry for guys lol

Oddly enough, a few of the new Mustang designs look just like the FR-S. I don't understand this horror at the thought some other car might be faster/better/lighter than the FR-S. If that's all your worried about, that's all you will ever be worried about. It will suck to be you always measuring your car against others. Dude, shoulda bought a better car to start with.

While I don't think that the sky is falling, I'm happy that somewhere has fixed (hopefully) the issue. Gonna shoot toyota a call. Even if nothing comes from it, it will get it in their ears. Such an easy fix. No reason why it shouldn't be spread to all ends of the earth

Miata/Spider project looks like it'll be closer to they Toyobaru partnership than I thought:

http://www.autoweek.com/article/2013...news/130119837

http://www.autoevolution.com/news/20...red-57353.html

They'll all be built in a Mazda plant.

Looks like the "mini-z" rumors have dried up, I can't find a recent article with anything of substance but you can dig up stuff from a year ago. The Datsun brand won't be coming to America, it's primarily for 2nd world "emerging markets" India, Indonesia, Russia and my money bets China and South America.
