Damn I've never thought of that but come to think of it I had just adjusted it in both cases. I think you're right.

I use the back side of my passenger seat to secure my sick pack of beer. And in both cases I had just adjusted it back after removing the beer.

Yeah, it really sounded like road debris and was always happening in the same place for me. Then I realized that it was right after I had let my daughter out for her preschool. The next day I paid attention and whatdoya know? Its the dang seat all along! Concern and a post on the forum for nothing!

OK folks, take note.

In case you hear "popping" on the days of July 3rd, 4th or 5th, Just relax (unless you are in Detroit). It is Independence Day otherwise know as "The Fourth of July" and one may hear 'fireworks'.

I figured Detroit were use to the pops from abandon building demos? I kid I kid!

OK, for the last week or so I've noticed a "knock" of some type when cornering. The sound was definitely on the passenger side but more up by the glovebox or passenger door handle. This thread being resurrected gave me the ambition to go outside and have a look at my car.

- First up, is the passenger seat locked in position. A-OK!
- Second, is there something in the door that is loose. I swung the door and tried to recreate what the motion might be during a turn. Nothing.
- Third, I checked for anything that might be moving in the glove box. The only thing in there is my registration and insurance card (the manual binder stays in the garage...2.4 pounds of weight ya know).
- Fourth, I decided to have a look under the hood into the engine compartment. First I shook the battery...then I started to scan for something loose...and that's when I saw this:

It would appear that I left a screw driver under the hood when I removed the sound tube a few weeks ago. I'm not saying that's what everyone else is hearing but sometimes you just have to look for the unexpected.

Glad that sucker didn't make its way to where the belts were! That could have been bad!

It's a loud ass pop too!

ROFL! I've done similar things in the past.

I have heard something thud under the car only when going into 3rd gear. I have driven a manual for awhile and my previous car was an Integra with a similar clutch feel. It was almost like the puck was sticking and then slapping. Very odd but the past 2 months it has not done it. It was cold when this happened too by the way. I also have this strange rattle when I turn coming from either the driver door or under my seat. Sounds like something that can roll but hexagon/octagon shaped. Taken off the door panels, no bits inside of it (my first assumption as it fits that description) and felt on the floor for anything bulging in the carpet lining. Nothing.

I just heard the pop today. Was driving through the parking lot of the grocery and sounded like I ran over something.

I had it happen just after getting on the freeway. Just like everyone said; a loud bang from the passenger side. This thread has helped assuage my fear that it was the beginning of the DI injector seals failing.

I used to fly Citations and Lears. A couple of them would give a loud pop from the bulkhead behind the cockpit through about 25k'. Hopefully this is the same kind of thing.
