I would pull it, take it apart, see what is damaged, then order up the parts, then take it to someone to put it back together correctly depending on what is damaged. No way am I trusting any of the local machine shops / engine builders.

Pull out the motor and electronics, put a custom mattress in the cabin and i'll have a rockin bunk bed.
oh, buy another FRS.

since the car will be that much lighter, i may just remove the floor and drive it around like the Flintstone's car

Well how blown is the engine in question? Rebuild would be cheaper than a new engine.
Half the value? How do you figure? I'd rather have a frs with the original non rebuilt engine.
