Just leave the headlights alone. There is no reason to replace stock HIDs with aftermarket HIDs. If anything, going with a higher Kelvin rating (6000k or higher) will actually reduce light output. The stock 4300k rating is the optimal color temperature.

The word "brighter" is being used incorrectly by OP to describe higher Kelvin temperature bulbs. It is incorrect because higher than 5000K is less than optimal for the human eyes.
OEMs use 4300K and 5000K bulbs because these produce the most visible and useful light for human eyes. |

Mine is at 0 i believe that's the highest that could go. and well I just learn today that you can actually adjust the height of the lamp and tested and worked XD! so yeah Imma try to get a 6-8k bulb for my brz ^^if it's the HID that I thought of. good luck to me! not gonna waste money on a aftermarket HID when there is a OEM HID in it and it's cheaper!

My brain sort of hurts from reading this. The lights in this thing are freaking amazing. I came from a 1999 Mercedes E300 and the BRZ lights allow me to see way more. Use your brights on empty roads only.
I live out in Oregon near no major cities. On back roads with zero lighting, I can see absolutely fine. The color temp of the bulb (IN MY OPINION) is spot on. The only reason to go higher would be for aesthetics. Get your eyes checked.

You'll lose visibility with 6000k and higher. Stay with stock oem bulb. I've been there, done that.
Most stock hid bulbs are 4300~4500k which look yellowish from inside (light reflection from the ground), but it's pretty white when you look at it directly. There is a big difference when you say "brighter" while you're looking at other car vs you're looking at your car's light reflection. All hid lights look bright when you're looking at it directly, but stock bulbs are the best.... trust me. Please please, brz is a nice car. Don't make your car like one of those street ricers... FYI. Since FR-S doesn't come with factory bi-xenon, I installed 55w 4500k hids. They are much much brighter and provide better visibility than 6000k. |

So true! Brighter != more intense. The OEM lights might not look as intense as 6000K+ lights, but you'll SEE more. |

Please do not state that you will be upgrading your HIDS for functional reasons when you are just going up in Kelvin temp. You lose output going up in temp. If it is for cosmetic reasons, I say go for it but you will have less usable light.
