Are helmets required for Mosport?

If you're serious about getting on a track (regardless if it's "just lapping"), a helmet should be your first purchase over anything else. Even if the organizers don't require it, I would never ever go on the track without mine. Then again, I don't go to helmet optional events.

Don't take this the wrong way, but that should not even be a question. I'm not trying to come off high or mighty or anything but I've seen some crazy shit over the years with those lapping groups (and in general). You can argue the "drive within your limits" thing but do you actually trust the other yahoos out there to do the same? I sure don't.

Take that as advice or me being an asshole, but you guys are a good group and the last thing I want to see is one of you getting hurt because of someone not having a clue of what they're doing.

Only if you want to keep your brains on the inside of your skull.

This weekend, the organizers say helmets are "recommended" but only mandatory for open top cars.
I think that's a little dumb, and almost everybody there will have helmets.

And hey... they're only $100 - 125.

I have seen the Youtube videos of the crashes at the track, wouldn't go without one. I was just curious. I'm not going to a track for a while with the car (can't afford anything to happen to it).

Hey everybody - Matt (Harbinger) and I are trying to get a head count for who all is interested in a beach cruise on Sunday. We're thinking either a full beach day + cruise OR head out and get there in time for sunset.

If you're in, let us know what preference you have in terms of time. We're working on a route right now and will have printed maps/directions if this is a go.

I would absolutely love to go, but I found out this weekend that I have to go back to the US again next Sunday. If we did it Friday or Saturday then I'm in :-)

I'll be in Norfolk County (aka Simcoe, Port Dover, Turkey Point). If you guys head south, I may have to join you.
Buuuuuut, not a great drive to get there.
A few curvy roads along the water, once you get to the lake. Front Rd/Lakeshore RD from Port Ryerse to Port Rowan is scenic.

Personally, it's a 7 out of 10 in my books....not great, but not bad either
