Went from a 330hp Infiniti G37S to the BRZ. I've told folks, "I'm down 130hp, but I'm up 130% fun."
I do miss the kick in the ass, but the chassis dynamics are on a different level with the BRZ. I'm very happy. Though, I'll trade the moment they bring out the BRZ STI, if it's decent. |

Tax is based on the state/county you live in. I already paid taxes and tag fee for this year and it is about the same as my Gencoupe.

This is my first post here, and I will be another example of going from high HP to the FRS. After being relocated by my job, and my wife not being able to find a very good job yet, we are cutting costs a bit. So I have a deal pending for next week to trade in my 5th gen Camaro SS for a Raven FR-S. Now, I do love my Camaro, and I'm not what I consider a stereotypical Camaro driver.
My previous list of cars while growing up and going through college include a 1981 Corolla 1.8 SR5 (with extensive mods), a 1985 Corolla GTS, a 1989 Corolla SR5, a 1989 Mazda RX-7 TurboII (my fav, an older woman totalled it while it was parked), and my Camaro SS. I've been keeping the FR-S on my radar because of my previous years in Corollas. I wanted to be able to save some money on my car payments and gas, while still owning a car that made the daily commute more bearable. So, if the dealership doesn't try to screw me over on Thursday when the car comes in, I will be another proud FR-S owner. I am not going to lie, I will definitely miss the rumble of the LS3 engine with the dual-mode exhaust, just as I still miss the exhaust note of my rotary, but I got to do what I go to do. |

I must ask why? I have loved the look and characteristics of the Evo X. I mean don't get me wrong I LOVE the FRS now that I have if but before I laid eyes on this car I was sold on the Evo X.

I came from a mildly modded Acura RSX-S. The power/acceleration is on par, but the handling is night and day.

i've had a long list of cars prior to this, all of which are faster than the fr-s was stock. hell, my kia is faster than the fr-s was stock lol. the fr-s has a lot of great attributes. power is not one of them. i'd like to be able to say the fr-s is more fun to drive, but it really isn't, the old miata na's take that cake.
overall the fr-s is a great compromise between miata awesomeness and practicality. they absolutely require boost if you want real performance, though. now that the fr-s is boosted i'd put it up against anything i've owned prior. |

I replaced my dearly departed (totaled) '04 SRT-4 that was 300+ with an '03 330Ci (came with 105k miles, didn't bother doing any real tuning). When that started having super-high maintenance costs over the last 6 months, I ditched it.
The SRT was by far the fastest (had it for a year and a half stationed in Germany, oh Lord was it fun), the 330Ci handled amazingly well and had more than decent pull, but after test driving a handful of sports coupes (and seriously disliking the 370Zs god-awful ride harshness, road noise, and visibility), I knew this was the one for me. Plus it'll be faster in due time. |
