Probably something you don't want to do to the car everyday but once in its existence isn't going to ruin it.

Combination of steel toed boots/shoes and the lightweight clutch...yeah I can see someone stalling a few times. I had a flat and even though I told the tech multiple times about the lock-out I had to run out to the car...ended up pulling my own car into/out of the bay b/c even after showing him, the 6'2" dude really wasn't sized to move the car.

If you're nice about it...and not GTFO of my car they should work with you, if not go somewhere else. *2 cents*

4/ you are welcome to give any example on any particular car about the non interference engine.
Im not talking about the frs engine, im just correcting you cause you said that any engine that breaks a timing belt is totalled... which is not true.

What I learned is oil change place at the dealer is completely different from the more involved service department.

The quick lube place for oil changes and tire rotation is cheaply run and can be quite disorganized. My wife went to Toyota dealer and waited an extremely long amount of time despite having made an appointment for an oil change and they also didn't rotate the tires despited being requested.

I don't really see dealer oil change as anything better than jiffy lube or firestone. I'd rather buy some oil filters from toyota and take it to some other convenient place.

That being said, a tech that can't drive stick is truly rare.

The clutch will not have any damaged and I doubt there will be any kind of premature wear on it that is noticeable until well over 100k unless if you ride the clutch all the time.

as far as 5k rpm clutch dumps, don't all the press do that to test the 0-60 times? People do that a lot at stop light races too. I don't think it's as bad as people make it sound. I used to it in my old car but I drive an auto now so I'm only speaking from previous experience.

To OP ... I would be pissed. It is not right for a dealership employee to treat your car differently than you would. If anything ... they should treat your car better. I've driven alot of manuals and to stall the motor seems to put the most stress on the components. I'm not an engineer, but it seems logical. I could probably look the other way for a single stall .... but 4 or 5???? No way. I definately would tell the service manager of your crappy experience and take your business elsewhere.

Yea I don't plan on returning to that dealer let alone any unless completely necessary. General consensus from the forum tells me that little to no damage was done which was my initial thought that I held back on to get other opinions so thanks for the feedback everyone.

The main reasons I was upset is firstly, their attitude and lies about stalling and how many times it happened. If they had just been honest about it and how many times they did it, I would have been happier knowing I was at least talking to an honest person and not someone trying to cover their tracks in lies.

The more important reason i was upset is that they even let this guy drive in the first place and even when he realized he didn't know how to drive, he didn't stop to tell anybody to say he couldn't do it. I mean stalling is basically the very least he could have done. What if he had made it to the garage and dropped the clutch too fast and slammed my car into a lift, tools, another car or even another person. Continuously stalling is a clear indication that you do not know how to drive stick and you shouldn't be handling customer cars like that so it is extremely irresponsible of the dealer to let that happen. If I hadn't have called him out, this trend could have continued and who knows what could have happened to the next guys FR-S or any other car for that matter.
