Throttle response delay

Just crossed about 4000 miles. seems to getting a slight delay on the gas pedal that didn't exist a few miles ago (getting worse). The only thing I did when I bought the car was drop in a K&N. Any ideas. TIA.

Going back to the OEM filter seems like the first thing to try?

I had the same issue when I installed the k and n drop in filter, but I reset my ECM before I drove it. Throttle response was bad from a dead stop. It's call a dead pedal. The TPS needs re-learned. I would reset the ECM, then turn the key to the on position and depress the throttle pedal to Wot and back five times. I turned the key back off again before starting the engine but I'm not sure if you really have to or not. The dead pedal should be gone. Mine was. Are you MT or auto?

I have also noticed poor throttle response and a rather unresponsive pedal after disconnecting the battery, but a couple days later it was fine after the ECU relearned.

How long ago did you istall the K&N? If its been in there a while (like months) then i doubt its the cause. Maybe try cleaning the MAF sensor and checking that all the hose clamps are tight on the intake.

try cleaning the MAF, I know ppl here will swear up and down the oil from their filters does not effect anything but its a possibility. After a week or so after the reset you should be able to tell if its gone or not.

So this might sound like a stupid question but when you guys say "Reset the ECU" do you mean just unhooking the battery or is there something more?

un hook battery both sides for around 15mins. also I have removed both leads and turned headlights on to suck out and remaining power that "could" be in power lines.

It's in the manual I believe. To reset the ecu, disconnect negative battery terminal for 15-20 minutes and you can also pump the brakes while disconnected to remove any charges and clear the ecu.
