Unless you buy a dealer installed alarm or aftermaket one all you have is the "ENGINE IMMOBILIZER" on the FR-S.

I wonder how manual transmissions really work as "anti-theft" devices. It has not stopped people from stealing Integra GS-R's.

My co-worker friend had a 2013 WRX (which have manual transmissions only). He was in Vegas with the WRX, and it was gone after a month of ownership.

I think it's mostly MT elitist circlejerking. "I'm better than everyone else because I shift gears". Pretty empty justification. Maybe it might stop a dumb kid from going for a joyride if you leave it unlocked with the keys in the ignition, but nobody who is going to go through the effort of breaking into your car is going to get turned away by the transmission. Ever heard the term "Drive it like you stole it"? The car thief is not worried about extra wear and tear by dumping the clutch at 4k RPM instead of smoothly and gracefully putting it into gear like an experienced MT driver. Heck, most car wash attendants or valets aren't even afraid to repeatedly stall it and/or dump the clutch while I'm standing there giving them a death glare, I really don't think a guy stealing a car is going to care if he stalls it or gets off to a real jerky start.

Wait!? You can make the horn honk when arming the alarm by a key fob button sequence? Do you know what the pattern is or has been on accident? Anyone? The dealer said you couldn't have the horn on when arming, just the beep.

Twice my '98 Escort got broken into and they pried the cowling off the steering column... and left. I figure they suddenly realized it was a manual -- or what kind of car they were about to steal.
