Maybe if I vent I'll feel better lol
![]() I'm currently deployed to Romania so it's been difficult to sit here and try to do things with my car back in NC. I received a notice saying I needed to get her inspected so I asked a friend of mine to take her around. Out of like 8 places guess which ones allowed me to pay extra since I have no catalytic converter. None! One place told me it failed cuz I have no 02 sensors and a vacuum leak, well that's great to hear but yeah I know(didn't know the vacuum leak issue tho) im planning to take her back to Ptuning for a flex fuel kit and a new exhaust , but It's seems like it's going to be harder since I won't be able to take her anywhere without valid registration. Idk how the process goes and I'm kinda ignorant .if just to put a cat and 02 sensors does the car require some sort of retune just to pass the stupid smog inspection? Then I'm gonna have to go back and take off the cat and sensors and get it tuned again? ![]() ![]() :b onk: someone learn me

Any tune that disables the cel code P0420 (for catless header) will also stop 1 or more readiness checks from completing. No tune systems even ecutek don't force readiness checks to pass, its probably a legal minefield so not done. If you have a flex kit and the rear 02 is disabled or the evap input is used then same deal one or more readiness checks will not pass. If the smog test requires all readiness checks to show completed and not failed or incomplete then your snookered. disabling CEL codes only disables CEL light and ecu action on CEL code. Readyness checks require the ecu to get the correct information from evap and emissions systems including both 02 sensors. this data is gathered over a period of time and analysied by ecu and used to endure the emissions systems are fully operational. The only way your going to pass is return car to stock tune with stock cat in header in place (or at least a tune with no emmissions CEL disabled and a catted header or o2 spacer that's fools ecu that their is a cat in header) , drive around till readiness checks complete then go to emmissions test station. Where are you from originally? Just use a relatives address and register it there. Boom, emissions exempt due to out of state.
I'm from WA but was stationed in OK, and didn't have to do the state inspections due to my plate. I wasn't a local.
