LOL, no.

ETA: I'd have both an FR-S and MX-5 if I could. The Mazda is a damn fine car, but not ugly enough for you?

ETA: Lots of room under that bumper for some hidden radiators. Would suck to get your ass wasted by a chick car, no?

Hands up who'd buy a 40K+ BRZ. Subaru corporate is counting.

Nope, would have to be both better performing and more visually subdued than I believe Subaru is capable of.

I'd buy one, but thats because I don't flip burgers and have no responsiblities other than to myself.

Sure, if it looked like this (which you would be able to pick up for the same money in 2 to 3 years when the BRZ above would hit production, if it did)

*crickets

-points to signature-

there's no need for a 430hp monster for $40k

People are paying 40k for a loaded wrx sti.

It's not that far fetched....

It can be done. All the necessary parts are sitting in bins and containers at the plant in Japan.

Well I was speaking for myself, I dont think Subaru has the ability to make a proper performance version without a lot of what I would view as ricey touches. The STi falls victem to this in my mind as well.

Were I shopping for an STi, I'd want the drivetrain with none of the visuals, same would apply to a hot BRZ.

I'd buy a tS with 250 horsepower for $40K today. 2.5 liter NA motor or turbocharged.

There are plenty of people on here who have put more than $40K into their BRZ/FRSs. Furthermore, there would be a whole new category who of people would come to the car if it had 250+ hp.

The Corvette and the Mustang are not the exact competitors. It would be a car for people who don't want to spend Cayman money for a sports car and/or who want a back seat.

I'd spend $40k on a 250hp FRS/BRZ/86 with revised suspension geometry and double wishbones all around.... (GT3/GT4 86, if you will?)

...but the same car with only a 250hp upgrade? No, not a chance.

Garage
LIKE:
-Improved aerodynamics (real diffuser)
-Brembo brakes
-BBS wheels
-Recaro seats
-Analytics display
-ARM REST! (proper shape/style/size)
-Smaller "shark fin"

DISLIKE:
-Design/shape a bit too aggressive with red accents, lights, and buttons everywhere
-Looks larger in size (and probably heavier)
-Big spoiler (OK for race but not for road)
-Still has mustache/double mustache/smiley face
-EJ20 with Turbo? (meh)
-Lots of carbon fiber (means the car will be expensive)
-Big wheels/narrow sidewalls and different sizes front/rear
-No fog lights

If the specs are true, then this will likely be an aggressive track car costing 40k plus and that might be too much...
