How do physical characteristics of a person affect their interests and hobbies? This was just a little too flagrant for me to ignore. |

So is the service boost something that just comes with the car, or do you have to purchase it? I have my car but I have been too busy driving to look at much paperwork

I just went for an orientation for my lease today. They had to inform me of all the stuff that goes with it. The woman I spoke with did mention that the synthetic oil was good for 10k miles, but per the lease, I was supposed to take my car in for every 5k miles. They'll put new windshield wipers and tires on the car as requested too, I just have to ask, and the treads have to be low enough for it to be OK'd by them.

Sounds like you need to locate another dealership. Dont be afraid to name a dealership.
I'm not going back to the dealer I got my car from for these very reasons, their mentality is about joyrides, based on my mileage in and out; and the gross lack of training they exhibited as a group towards a car they sold. Panels returned with plastic rivets missing, SOA toll free is a useless bunch- this aint no BMW. |

No problem for me... Dealer took me in right when I touched 7k miles (close enough to the 7,500 mile service mark anyway).
Although I've really started disliking dealerships lately... If it weren't complimentary, I'd learn to do it myself... Sooner or later, I'm going to have to start pushing myself to perform the task. I'm a sports car fanatic, so why not get intimate with it?

If you want to help Scion get its dealer's act together and get better service yourself in the future I would call Scion up on the phone and tell them about your experience... Or at least email them and request to be contacted.
Dealers that do this kind of shit need to be called on it. |

Someone mentioned taking the FR-S to a Subaru dealership for service. Surely, that won't work, will it? I mean will Subaru do the service?

Is the "complementary maintenance" really worth it for the hassle you're dealing with? That's what you have to ask yourself. In the time you spend driving to the dealer you could be changing your own oil in your driveway or garage. It's painfully simple, inexpensive, and you have the satisfaction of knowing that your car is being 100% properly maintained. I'm sorry you're dealing with such incompetence at that dealer.
I stopped letting people change my oil the day I went into a shop and the mechanic "couldn't find the engine under the hood of my Fiero"
