TPMS Kit
I searched the forums for guidance on the TPMS system already, found some useful info but it was from 2012 and 2013.
I am locked in on getting: (from TireRack) Wheels: Enkei Tuning TS9 Specs: 18" x 8.5" Tires: Continental ExtremeContact DW Specs: 225/40/18 All I need to make a final decision on is whether I need to buy the TPMS kit they sell for $56 each wheel. I read that I don't actually NEED to have those intalled but I'm OCD, so yes a light whether blinking or not would get on my nerves. Let's say I do purchase them to get installed by TireRack... Am I automatically good? or do I have to go to Subaru to have them paired up to the system? If that's the case, would it be better to have Subaru remove the ones from the stock tires and put them on the Continentals? Thanks 86ers.

You have to go to the dealer to get them paired with your vehicle. Most people on here will tell you that they will likely do it for free and take them 15 min. The TPMS kits that go in each wheel is a semi-permanent installation requiring them to replace valve core, cap, nut and o-ring (seal) each time. Google says these run you about $5-$10 each wheel.
With that said, it would hardly be worth it for the effort to have them removed from your current wheels in my opinion. Also, another note: if your car has TPMS capability its technically unlawful to install tires without the senors in most states, whether you care about that or not |

when I got my wheels and tires, I told them to remove my stock sensors and put them in the new wheels. they did it and no problems at all. they didn't even charge me for it. they only charged me for mounting the tires since I didn't buy my tires at the shop otherwise it would be free. I went to America's Tire.

Search ATEQ Quickset. If you're OCD (like I am) about a blinking orange light every time you drive your car, it's totally worth it. Also, take a look in the classifieds here, I've seen used sets of TPMS go for ~$100.

Ah I misread. If you don't need to use the old wheels, then yes, just use the original sensors. I swap wheels every summer/winter, but if you are doing a permanent swap you can just use the original sensors.

Those lights actually indicate something rather good than bad
