I have a 2015 and bought the one from camera source on ebay. It has the guidelines but can be disabled by cutting a jumper on the cable close to the camera. Pretty much plug and play. Had a little trouble getting the 12 volt trip wire into the plug at the head unit but other than that it was a breeze. When you pop the molding up beside the seat there is a nice little trough to run the cable through. Camera is obviously not HD but does have a good enough picture. We have Toyota Tacoma work trucks at the work 20 with the multimedia cameras on them and this one is every bit as good. It took me about 6 hours to install due to the problem with the trip wire. If I did it again I could probably get it down to 4 or 5. You won't be disappointed. Price was $161.00 with shipping and all.

I just went out and played with my jumpers. My camera has 4 wires. Two green and two white. When the green wires are connected the parking guidelines are removed from the screen. Connecting the two white wires inverts the image making it upside down on the display.
The trip wire gave me some trouble as well. Rather than try to force the pin into the plastic connecter which was difficult to get in deep enough to make continuity I just didn't use it and just pushed the bare wire in from the backside and secured it with a dot of hot glue. Im sure if I had the patience I could have made the connector work but the only thing that matters is continuity. OP: Go back and reread the other thread I linked to. There are two youtube videos that go over the installation and specifically the installation of the reverse wire. I'm sure there are variations of cameras out there that will use different combinaitons of the jumper wires based on how the camera was manufactured. The photo below shows what works for mine to disable the guidelines and have the proper orientation. ![]()

I followed this video...
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_F4ww1YHRY"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_F4ww1YHRY[/ame] Only ONE wire splicing required (I prefer to splice as little as possible). And there is a harness to wire most of the items.

I'll try to get a pic of it when I can get a chance. Actually I didn't splice, just tinned the wire with solder and stuck it in the plug by the hood latch. I think it was the 5th one down. Went in really easy and secured with small cable tie so it's not coming out. |

I did the same thing rather than splice into the harness. Clean, easy to remove without a trace. No risk of cutting the harness wire. |

When I supply that wire with a camera harness to FR-S owners (and anyone else whose car lacks the reverse gear lead), it has the correct terminal. Before you can insert (or extract) a terminal, you do also need to open a retaining latch on the bottom of the 28-pin plug.
