I could see the BRZ looking more mature(aka expensive) than a base FRS simply due to the base FRS headlights and lack of foglights. The little extras on a FRS really makes a difference IMO.

Still doesnt make sense in that logic if your talking about price.....in that case the new Yellow FRS with all those 'mature' expensive TRD parts is 30k+ more mature oh and the 10 series also is that less "mature" then a BRZ???

The entire BRZ is more "mature" debate is kind of lost to me also.

But I can unerstand people viewing the BRZ as more "mature". By virtue the BRZ limited has a less aggressive (in opinion, you could word it as less radical and still convey the same message), a less aggressive*(there is that word again) instument cluster and dash accents, Alcantara interior, illuminated vanity mirrors, illuminated door lights (WTF is the technical term for those?), trunk liner, softer rear springs etc etc.

But those opinions were originally formulated before the likes of the 10 series (some could argue that the 10 series is a kids toy with all the lights etc), monogram (probably the one closest to a GT86, and directly comparable with a limited brz), and release series FR-S (which with the radical color and aero could be deemed as immature also).

But they are both equally fun to drive and the FRS is "Technically" less expensive. (I really think 1g give or take is not a material difference, especially when financing.)

Right. And an older (more mature) person is more likely to be swayed by those creature comforts. Where a less "mature" person would actually not mind the space invaders everywhere, and actually may think it looks cool.

Someone just concerned with FR layout as the deciding factor on his next car purchase isn't necissarily immature either. And decided to purchase a FRS over the BRZ because he saved a few bucks. That is actually a very mature decision as the FRS delivered exactly what he wanted and at less cost.

I don't consider myself very "mature" but I did like the interior and exterior of the BRZ a lot more than the FRS and thought it was worth my extra money.

I think the mature decision is buying the car you want because of your own reasons. Not because you think scion is an immature brand or subaru is a mature one.

That said, badge snobbery is a very real and common thing. I like how this car accentuates that because it is so similar yet some people feel so strongly about the badge.

I'm not talking just about price, I'm talking more about creature comforts which tends to bump up the price. A Lotus Elise and a Loaded Camry might sell for the same price, but obviously the Camry will be viewed as the more "mature" car.

The brands alone (Subaru vs. Scion) is a good reason why the BRZ is viewed as more mature. Most people wouldn't consider Scion as a "mature" brand. Even though old people love them.

I mean that I don't want a touchscreen in my car, it was one of the reasons I bought a Scion over a Subaru, regardless of quality of touchscreen.

I daily drove a Genesis for about two years and I've had a BRZ for about two years now. It was the older 2.0t so the power wasn't that much different, but the Genesis just felt so much BIGGER. Of course, it was a 2010 so it was before they completely screwed up the aesthetics of the car. New Genesis are hideous.

I didn't find the interior that much nicer, other than the fact that you actually CAN put people in the back seat of a Genesis.

They just come out with a sore neck or a bruised forehead unless they've got a short torso. It has legroom, I'll give it that. No headroom back there though, the seats are too high.

I've got a 13 BRZ and a 13 GC (wife drives it). Whenever we go somewhere with our 9 year old daughter in back, we take my car. If we have any full sized adults along for a lengthy trip, we take neither.
