I don't see why shiv can't make a quick 30 second change. It is not necessary for me to spend money on a new map when the one I have will work perfectly fine.

The same question applies, why have you not arranged for it earlier?

Since you are not an OFT300 customer, did you just ignored this reply and expected shiv to not sleep and work on a saturday?

I'll have Collin email you about the map sensor I sent him and see if he can work something out with you, if not I'll see if I can work out getting him a new map sensor to use.

I purchased a open flash tablet therefore I am a customer. I don't understand what you guys don't get that only 2 scales need to be changed. I purchased his product I would expect some sort of support. He told us that he would one day support FI and I was one of a few customers that decided to wait. Have you ever thought that maybe some people with existing vortech kits would like to use open flash. Oh and nelsmar and I both called vortech to kit a 2.5 map sensor part number. They couldn't give me an answer.

How exactly is this Shiv's responsibility to tune your specific configuration that is not the same as his which he is developing a locked OTS map for? I don't think he is doing etunes for FI yet, maybe never. But have you even asked him to e-tune your car and paid him for that service? You just expect him to tune your customized stuff because you have an OFT? Even if you ask him to e-tune, I don't think he is outside the bounds of saying "NO" to that request for new FI configurations as they are just now announcing they will have a FI vortech kit (not even released yet to any customers that have actually bought the kit from Shiv yet I don't think).

Here, see post #38 in this thread:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=59409&page=2

Pretty similar situation.

Curious, how much would it cost you to buy the proper sensor in question to match Shiv's kit?

What happens if your engine goes kaboom like nelsmar's? Do you expect shiv pay to get it fixed?

No I don't expect shiv to be reliable. All I ask is that he makes this modification or gives me a .bin file.

CJ, seriously, go to a local tuner unless you want to start a thread about fixing your blown engine.

We don't have any local tuners that have experience on this platform unfortantly.

I really didn't want to get into this debate one bit. But if your engine goes kaboom on shiv's OFT300 do you expect shiv to pay for it? I am not saying that using shivs map for a setup that has 2 main differences would be safe I am just pointing out the kaboom part. I didn't expect Toni to fix my shit. I just expected an apology :P

Not if it deviates from what he has tested on his own car. We all know shiv likes to test and confirm for himself so I doubt that he would take some numbers someone uses and call it done let alone take liability for it as a business.

Yeah, because you decided to not buy his kit and proceeded to do the install, expecting him to work on this specific Saturday, knowing you still need to sort out the MAP sensor issue, without sourcing one or prearranged for shiv's commitment to do so.

The funny thing about this thread right now is that people are actually defending a vendor, not attacking one. Has the world gone mad?

I defend vendors when people have unrealistic expectations just like I bash vendors when they screw people over.

Over in the Nameless header thread I must have defended them 5-6 times already when people have complained their header doesn't make 40+ hp over stock or 215whp on pump gas.

Same goes here in two recent threads about people expecting OTS tunes to be optimal/good or even run when they modify their cars outside the very simple, straight forward modification lists in the release notes for a given map.
