I want to connect these to the PARKING wire instead of the power outlet wire....Does any one know where this wire is located? Everyone mentions it as an alternative but doesn't explain which wire it is.

And just for clarification, one DIY said to remove the 5amp fuse from the red power wire? I'm assuming this is terrible advice?

Thanks...One last question - how do you access the side marker wiring from inside the engine bay? do you have a pic of it?

I dont think you can. You may be able to stick your hand down there but i dont know. The easiest way to probably do it is to pop out the sidemarker from outside the car.

So I can't get them to power on at all. Do you think Toyota would be a good place to have them install

Did you test them first by just touching power and ground to the battery? Maybe its a faulty set. But maybe some dealers are different than others. Doesnt hurt to ask. They will kill you with how much itll probably cost.

Didn't think about that for some reason haha. Do I just touch the power wire to positive and the ground to negative on the battery?

Thanks for all the help everyone! I had some trouble getting this to work, but if I had to do another one, it'd be 10x easier! I hooked the red wire to turn signal. Its probably easier than going through the glove compartment.
If you plan to go through the firewall, a quick tip for you is to tape the wire to the screwdriver and push the screwdriver through. If you plan to do the signal wire, splice into the green wire if you want it on when you turn on parking lights. Tap into the pink wire if you want your drls to blink with the signals... |

This is the wire I hooked into, it is just under the ebrake. ![]() Here is the wiring diagram for what I did is attached As you can see, there are several diodes and inline fuses. It may be overkill, but I am paranoid about shorting things out. Basically, when you pull up the ebrake negative signal allows the coil to be energized, which switches the power from 87a to 87, interrupting the power to the lights. Put the brake down, the coil loses energy and flips back to 87a, powering the lights again. It works like a charm. The diode there with the yellow wires prevents a spike when the coil collapses.
