The tools I used were:

Flat head screwdriver-optional
10mm socket
scissors-for electrical tape
electrical tape-optional
zip ties-already supplied

I can start by saying you do not need to take off the front bumper or even jack up the car to get from underneath if you use this DIY.

My OEM DRLS are shut off via the ECU from the dealer.

The front plastic covers just pop off. Use your fingers or a flat head screwdriver to just pry off.

Next take the long wiring harness supplied and feed it through the passenger side behind the head light and down. You will be able to see the bottom of the bumper so seeing where the wiring goes should be easy. If you want you can also stick your hand in the hole where the new light goes and grab the wiring. I have huge hands so if my hands fit so can yours most likely.

This is where people can choose to follow the way I did it or they can choose another way.

I wanted to feed it along the top of the bumper for easy acess if need be as well as I was afraid you would see the wire loom from the front bumper grill.

I started to feed it as so. Please see pictures below. From Passenger side to Driver's side. You will see the holes i used to zip tie the loom under the metal to hide it as much as possible as well as keep it suspended from getting into anything else.

I have a Takeda intake and there is a small little gap under the air snorkel i fed the wires through.

Again push behind the Drivers headlight and down to the hole. This one you really may need to reach up with your hand to grab. There isnt much room behind the drivers side headlight.

Plug in the new DRL lights and make sure to get these three tabs in the holes right otherwise the plastic may not be full secure.

Then after all the wiring is fed and zip tied where you want it back on the passengers side you will have two connectors ready to be plugged into the resistor box.

I zip tied the resistor box to the bundle of wires behind the fuse box in the engine bay. Use 4 zip ties total.

Also on the other wiring harness with:

red
blue
white
black

I cut the wiring covering to get the red wire out and rewrapped the covering onto the other wires and used tape to seal it back up.

I routed the other wires back to the headlights (front of the car) as the power wire (red) i routed to the back of the engine bay to gain access to an ignition wire.

From here this is where others can choose a different route or wite to tap. I wanted to do the ignition wire under the dash behind the cigarett outlet in the glove compartment.

Please see routing below. I may still go in and cover it up but it doesnt look bad with just one wire. its hardly noticable To get the wire inside i used the screw driver to push through a hole. Then placed the wire in and pushed it through with the screwdriver.

If any part takes you the longest it will be this next step.
To try to tap into the power wire behind the outlet is so hard you have to do it blind alot of the time just because its hard to get under there. You can always opt to drop the glove compartment to gain more access but thats all up to you.

Attach the fuse wire (supplied) and then tap into the power wire as see below.

Now back to the other wires in the engine.

This is where it gets optional again. There are 3 preferences on these. These are also listed in the instructions (supplied)

1. DRLS on all the time (only connect the red wire)
2. DRLS switch to low power when headlights come on (connect blue wire with step 1)
3. DRLS shut off when headlights come on (connect white wire)

I went for option 2 and connected the blue wire to the red power wire from the low beam of the passenger headlight.

Tear away a little of the white covering to give room and tap as so.

Then plug back in and this is what you will see.

Then take the groud wire and on the frame you will see a bolt that has a ground wire already connected. unscrew it with the 10mm and slide the ground wire over the bolt. it fits perfectly and just retighten.

Then clean all the wiring up with electrical tape if you choose to do so and tuck the wires away.

Then you are DONE! It was 15 degrees out and the car was filthy since we got 3 inches of snow lastnight.

This is the car running headlights OFF. The DRLS are on high power.

Yes it is still possible. Since these are independant the OEM DRLs should have absolutely no effect.

Also I have already tinted mine with overlays but here are some close ups. Sorry I couldnt be more helpful with pictures. Its below freezing here in WI and the only option I have is to wash the car outside and this car will never see an automatic car wash.
