17x9 +42 & 245/40 w/ RCE yellow and maxed camber bolts

DOES NOT FIT

I've read this fits from some, I've heard it doesn't from others, I've heard "maybe" from another camp. But for the record, it DOES NOT FIT in front, due to clearance with the front strut assembly. It is a very small amount of rub, but it is not something I would drive on. I have 3mm spacers on the way that should resolve this, but I figured I'd make a thread that is easy to find when searching.

@jeebus, I think those people were running the OEM bolts (i.e., 0 camber). Even at 0 camber, you're really close to the front spring perch. I wouldn't recommend it especially on 245 tires.

There are a couple of options.
Run spacers at the front.
Run aftermarket coilovers with smaller diameter springs/shocks.
Run less camber.
Run slimmer wheels/tires.

I have OEM crash bolts with 17x7.5 +50 wheels on 215/45/17 tires and there's rubbing under high loads.

If you're using OEM suspension with crash bolts, I'd personally use wheels with +42 or lower offset and no wider than 225 tires.

For the record, this is how much clearance I have with op's exact setup using stock bolts.

Or ditch the camber bolts and get camber plates, since that won't change clearance at the tire.

I'm really hoping the 3mm spacers (should be here today) do the trick. Otherwise I guess I'll ditch the camber bolts and order some plates. Not really in the budget this week though...

Yup, I coulda told you that, my wheels are the exact same offset and width. In fact the question has been answered a few times in the will it fit thread.

well...I did a little grinding on the spring seat and put 3mm spacers in. It "clears". Even with the bolts maxed out. It's pretty dang close though.

Any pics of how close? I want to order the same wheels you have eventually. Not interested in coilovers unless I can get super high quality ones.

here ya go. With the 3mm spacers and a tiny bit of grinding to the spring seat, there's about 3mm of clearance. Without the grinding, maybe 1.5mm...

If this was a 17x8 rim, would there be more clearance? ie is the rim stretching the tire closer to the spring perch?

I can def see where it would rub under hard cornering with some tire deflection. How do you like the Titan's?

It might rub. I marked the tire there with some perm marker and haven't seen rub spots yet with "spirited" driving. AutoX might be a different story though. I will likely buy some camber plates and ditch the bolts so I feel more at ease.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the titans though. Light, cheap, look great IMO.
