Help with lug nuts for aftermarket wheels
Hey everyone I just recently got some XXR wheels and I wanted to use the stock lug nuts but was told they were too wide. I want to know if there is a specific type made for XXR wheels or just any aftermarket brand of lug nuts is fine. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The rest of your statement is completely false. As long as the lug fits and you have a proper seat, you can use any lug with any wheel. -alex |

![]() You should be able to tell which type you will need by looking at the mounting holes on the wheel. |

most aftermarket lugs are conical and most stock wheel mounting points are flat. you definitely don't want to use a conical lug on a flat mounting point where it's supposed to be a bolt with washer. obviously there's exceptions though.

If the problem is cone diameter of the nut and tool fitment, look into the Gorilla small diameter splined lug nuts (in 12mm x 1.25mm fitment for Subaru), can get them locally at any Discount Tire store. I have a set of old Enkei RS-5 wheels that have to use them and they just barely fit when nothing else easily available does. http://www.gorilla-auto.com/small-diameter-lug-nuts

Thanks for the help guys. So I needed these by Monday so I checked out some auto zones but I've only been able to see acorn nuts instead of conical. Will these be ok or do they only fit conical?

Acorn and Conical are one in the same. You are fine using "acorn"/conical lug nuts. I use my stock lug nuts on my aftermarket wheels with no issues.
