Torque pro: Ambient Air question

Hey guys,

I purchased Torque Pro for some data logging.

Do you guys know where the app is getting the ambient air reading from? Is it a car sensor, the phone or the internet?

The reason I'm questioning the reading is because the app's air temp reading was different from what the car's dash display was reading.

Thanks!

Doing a bit of Googlin, I found the replacement part number which leads me to believe it is an independent sensor.
But I'm no expert so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct i would say torue is using same sensor but just different scaling causing the difference, it can probly be agjusted somewhere in torque
