Trunk bumper protector
My car has a clear trunk protector to protect from scratching when loading things into the trunk, well I accidentally made a scratch and pulled a good chunk of the sticker, it is lifted and scratched a bit, doesn't look like I damaged the paint or anything but now there's a transparent white area that you usually get when you pull a sticker away or end up lifting part of a sticker and the adhesive is visible/white. My car is black so I can see it and it bothers me, idk how tough that sticker is but do you think if I heat the area up and push it down it'll clear up? By melting the adhesive, etc. It's a small problem but it bothers me and sticks out every time I look.

The thing is it's just a small spot and I wanna remelt the adhesive if possible, just wanna know if it's possible before I cause more damage. The best way to explain it is the sticker is lifted and stretched so it makes it look white, can I remelt that?

Honestly From the way you are describing it I see no problem in attempting to heat the film up and re-apply it just watch the paint. From past experience clear protectors only like to go on once and after they are damaged it's better to get a new one because you will never be able to make it look perfect again. A Picture would probably give me a better opinion but this is based off past experience. Good luck

Does it have a raised edge like a sticker or was it smooth? If it had a raised edge to begin with it probably wasn't installed right and should come right off like a sticker would. If you decide to replace it, go somewhere where they do clear bras, rather than having the dealer install it as an acccesory.

I'm pretty sure the bumper protector needs to be replaced. But try the heat gun out and let me know if that works

Yea I thought so too but if I could salvage it I rather do that. I think the price of the appliqué sticker is too much and not really necessary for such a small issue, it did what it was suppose to hopefully and protected the paint. From the looks of it, it's only the appliqué that's damaged. But i'll try a heat gun when I get a chance.
