Unplugged ECU with battery hooked up seems Bricked

I was being lazy and did not unhook battery. Then unplugged ecu and reconnected it. It will not start or respond to tactrix or elm. I have the 2017 limited cluster and it says engine coolant high tempature. This is a 2013 brz smart entry. Anybody have any advice? I have already ordered two used ecus.

Not exactly the same but I had a problem with laptop dying during a write and mine seemed bricked. What I had to do was disconnect the battery and press the break to fully discharge everything and then reconnect the battery and I was able to connect to and rewrite it.

I would try disconnecting the battery with the ECU plugged in and pressing the brake for 30-60 seconds and then reconnect the battery and try to connect with tactrix then and see if that works for you.

As above with everything plugged in remove battery , press brake, try tactrix again after reconnecting.

Stil no go diconnect battery for 30 minutes try again.

Id be quite supprised if ecu is damaged unless you shorted something. Ix say either ghe ecu or other modules in car are in a strange state when they lost contact with ecu

Thanks guys, I wish we had an open source recovery. I would give a donation for that. One more question do I wait in till the bell gets through dinging before I hit program.

Tactrix you always need to turn ignition on full, not accessory, engine stopped. Then wait 15 seconds, before trying read or write

Before it was bricked the cluster would say the same thing "engine coolant high tempature" when I was loading a rom. Now it's permanent anytime the key is on.
