AEM AFR Failsafe false lean readings

Hi all,

I recently started getting a lean reading on my AEM Failsafe a few weeks ago. I have had the gauge for a year and a half with no problems until now.

When I start the car, the gauge reads 14.4 then withing 10 seconds it climbs to 18 and stays there. I'f I give gas it will go down to around 16-17 but never to stoic at 14.7.

I know the car isn't running lean because I am currently etuning my engine and the readings from the ECUTek software from my primary o2 sensor is always around 14.7.

So far the things I checked:
- brake cleaner rag test reveled the sensor was working fine. I replaced it anyhow and got the same readings.
- checked the headers and downpipe for leaks. Found that everything was nice and tight. No leaks.
- wired the gauge directly to the battery just in case the false readings was due to low voltage. That did not work either.
- purchased a replacement power harness and sensor harness. Still no change.

The last thing is replacing the actual gauge itself but I was wondering if anyone here has ever experienced an issue like this with this AEM AFR Failsafe gauge? The guys at AEM are stumped as well. They want me to return it for testing but of course there's a fee with that. At this point I could have spent the money on a brand new gauge...

Its weird that it was working fine for a year and a half and all of a sudden this happens.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Mike
