Sold - FS: Forester oil-to-water cooler setup

Sold

$170 shipped

Everything you need for the Forester oil-to-water heat exchanger setup. Faster oil warm-up AND improved cooling when it gets too hot. This makes a noticeable difference, but doesn't have the capacity for track days at 100F+ ambient temperatures. Perfect for street or autocross setups though and looks OEM when installed. Parts were used for about 5000 miles and have no wear or damage.

-Forester heat exchanger
-Forester hard lines
-Forester coolant hoses
-Optional modified BRZ coolant hose with stainless T-fitting that can be used in place of Forester hard lines.
-All non-standard hoses for routing coolant
-Hose clamps
-Aluminum barbed fitting to replace water pump plug

You think this would work great for timed road challenge in the middle of the summer in the midwest? Won't ever be drifting or running track stuff

I’ve never done a timed road challenge so I can’t say for sure. I’ve used this in 100F weather on Thunderhill Raceway and 90F weather on Laguna Seca and it allows me to get to the end of a 15-20 minute session at 260-270F oil temp, while without I’m at those temperatures about 10 minutes in.

I’m not sure. Probably depends on how you route it. I’ve read but not confirmed the AT cars use the blocked off forester port for the transmission? But if you route the coolant with the throttle body heater method I don’t see why not.

I think I'm just gonna wait until I can find a used Jackson Racing radiator with oil cooler! Thanks!! Glws

Do you have the instructions for install or is it obvious?

Either of these methods would work. I would give the first method with the throttle body loop a try; you don’t even need to jack up the car. I did the method more similar to the forester and it’s kind of a pain.

I can do $140

Bump. Good deal for a daily driver and canyon Carver. The TB install is much easier to install and has been proven to be just as effective as the old install.
