Here’s some sweet new desktop eye candy for your computers, courtesy of forum member shawrf1 who was on hand at the D1 Grand Prix drift race which recently took place in Odaiba, Tokyo. The photos feature the twin turbo Toyota 86 which would eventually crash, as well as Max Orido’s V8 powered 86.
The usual tire smoke was replaced by water (rain), making for some dramatic photographs. View and download inside.

The first race in the D1 Grand Prix Drift Series saw the introduction of some Toyota 86 drift cars. Exciting times for 86 fans, but the race also featured a crash by a twin turbo 86. Also participating was Max Orido with his V8 powered 86.

Autocar has posted its direct comparison review pitting the Subaru BRZ against the Nissan 370z and Mazda MX-5 Miata. There’s some different text than the previous released print magazine review and BRZ fans should like this outcome 🙂

A lucky FT86club member was able to attend the Hyper Magazine’s recent meet at the Tsukua Circuit which saw many already modified Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZs attend and run at the track.
