The 86/FR-S/BRZ has picked up the first of what we believe will be an impressive collection of awards. The Toyota GT86 (FR-S) and Subaru BRZ have jointly taken the Sports Coupe Car of the Year Award at the 2012 Vehicle Dynamics International Awards, as named by the global panel of of specialist engineers, technologists and journalists. The car’s chief engineer Tetsuya Tada (Toyota) was also named as Dynamicist of the Year, alongside Toshio Masuda, his Subaru counterpart on the project.

Congrats to all those involved in the engineering, development, and production of the car! Discuss INSIDE.

Luck Motorsport has released some details of their parts and prices for the 86/FR-S/BRZ, which include a variety of suspension upgrades, engine, transmission, and aero upgrades. Seen are coilovers, springs, bushings, pulleys, throttle body, clutch, LSD, gears, and a carbon fiber rear wing.

Check out a roughly translated description of the products, and related pricing after the jump.

The lucky winners of the First 86 contest will be the first owners to take delivery, which means their FR-S will be the first to arrive at dealers starting… NOW 🙂

Seen HERE is one of the first FR-S to arrive at any dealership for a to-be owner. This Whiteout FR-S will soon be delivered to FT86club member Pekingduck. Congrats!!

On this episode of Ignition, Carlos Lago finds out if the 2013 Scion FR-S blazes a new trail for affordable, real-wheel drive enthusiast cars. Pro racer Randy Pobst also gets in on the action, pushing the FR-S to its performance limits with hot laps around Streets of Willow racetrack.

See INSIDE for why and how the FR-S “blows away” the reviewer, despite his self-admitted almost un-meetable expectations.

What an excellent preview tool for exploring the Subaru BRZ inside and out. A French photographer has created this interactive 360 degree panoramic visualizer of the Subaru BRZ.

The interior is full rotating and zoomable and even has some interactive qualities such the Start/Stop button which turns the interior lights on and off. The exterior views have an interactive hood and trunk.

Here’s the first head to head timed track comparison we’ve seen between the Subaru BRZ, Toyota 86 / Scion FR-S, and the Mazda Miata MX-5. The three cars are taken around the Montegi track for a 3 lap timed run.

We won’t spoil the results for you, so check out the battle video inside.

According to site member Moto-P, the ship that is carrying the first batch of FR-S/BRZ for US customers has landed at the Port of Los Angeles (Long Beach, CA) on 4/24. The release is scheduled for 4/30, where it will make its way by ground freight to dealers.

So some of your babies are currently just clearing customs and documentation now, on their way to your dealers soon!
