Tuned heads to Chuckwalla Raceway to test out VCMC’s Turbo FR-S, built for Canada’s Tuner Challenge. It’s a fully built track car, and as an added challenge, Matt gets to share the track with the practice session for the 24 Hours of Lemons.

In addition to the Gazoo GRMN Sports FR Concept that we already know will be revealed at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon, Toyota and its tuning partners will also be showing at least 4 other 86/FR-S concepts at TAS.

Not to be outdone by Subaru’s upcoming 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon debuts, Gazoo Racing (Toyota’s motorsport/tuning partner) has just teased its GRMN Sports FR Concept Platinum which will be reavealed at the 2013 TAS.
The teasers show custom bodywork with unique lights and a huge high wing racing spoiler. GRMN Sports FR Concept Platinum will feature a twin-charged (supercharger and turbocharger) 2 liter boxer engine, outputting 325hp (330PS) and 431Nm (318 lb-ft) of peak torque.
The concept weighs in at 2,751 pounds (1248kg), is driven by a 6 speed manual with a new limited slip differential and has upgraded brakes, suspension, and wheels/tires.

The Tokyo Auto Salon 2013 is just around the corner (starts Jan. 11) and Subaru has released a press release previewing their display, which references a BRZ Premium Sport Package Concept, a Gazoo Racing 86/BRZ One Make Race BRZ race car as well as the GT300 race car. More details.
