I wouldn't say 2IS bad. Everyone said it was bad, but when the 3IS came out, journalists admitted that 2IS chassis was really good but suspension was tuned for comfort.
Just adding to Dark's point I'm my honest opinion having been in both prototype cars. the 86 felt way more nicer than the BRZ on the inside. But I think it's up to the person. Toyota was really pushing to have a better interior "grand luxury" material. and Subaru basically made the interior similar to the WRX, in fact the interior is almost the same now. Lots of stuff is shared though, but one biggest difference is the soft and stitched Alcantra leather on the 86 compared to the hard wrapped faux leather of the BRZ.

Can't say anything for sure since neither car if finalized and both are 2016 with tacked on 2017 parts.

Thanks for sharing, Zaku. I'll pay a Toyota dealer a visit whenever 86 arrives. I was only going to check out BRZ, but this changed my decision.

Yes this was my impression as well when I first saw the pictures of the interiors.

The new 86 interior seems like it has hints of late 80's Toyota sports car feel to it, more so if they ditch the remaining silver and chrome bits and go with matching color plastics for that industrial look.

Seems like Subaru is trying to hard too have the BRZ match design cues inside and out with their rest of the line-up, just missing some walnut trim in place of the glossy carbon fiber bits and it'll be a hit with the SVX owners.

It's almost as if you like the leather or you like Suade alcan tara etc. One huge thing that left a very good impression on me is the 86 logo on the steering wheel compared to the subaru logo, perhasps I'm so used to seeing those in WRX or Impreza the subaru line up that it made the Toyota really stand out. I hope we do get the 86 logo on the steering wheel, I know we have a press release saying we will but I'm wary it might just be a boring toyota emblem.

I realize they may not be production, but it appears there is a size discrepancy in the HU displays between the BRZ and the FR-S in the above photos, with the Subie's seeming to be smaller. Hard to be sure with these photos though.

I love how many of you are clearly talking out of your ass. Techstream does in fact show the tire pressure for each wheel. I don't know if it works but there is a menu item to change when the light comes on. I never did get around to testing it. But when you are in that menu it does display the current tire pressure. I'll try and remember to check it when I get home this evening as I never keep that cable with me. I'll grab some screenshots...

I assure you, Priuse is loved design else where. Subaru Impreza is considered ugly everywhere in the world.
