However i cannot say the same about toyota if they had even cared one bit about the issue you should try to look up the most current tsb. hope your local scion/toyota dealership doesnt try and give you another cold shoulder.
I'll have to give Toyota a call to see if there's any notices on this problem. As of last Thursday they claim that there is no TSB. Thanks for letting me know that a problem can be solved some how.
I bought a whole new bumper plus the new revised brackets for both sides and the problem came back. The repair lasted about a week and a half. The whole deal about the bumper shrinking due to the heat was told to me buy both body shops. They told me that the shrinking only has to be a few millimeters for this problem to happen. I still have the old bumper and after measuring them the original one is smaller by 3/16 th. On body panals this would make a big difference.

Yes, you're right Subaru does have a TBS. The TBS states try replacing the brackets first . If that didn't fix the problem they would replace the bumper. They have a pic in the TBS that shows a bumper that is to small and the hole that you put one of the push pins in behind the side marker light doesn't line up. I took the TBS with me to the Toyota dealer and they told me they couldn't use it. They have to have their own TBS.

I worked for Amcor rigid plastics as a production manager for 10 years . I know how plastic behaves under certain conditions. Especially polypropylene. Polypropylene will want to return to its original state if not flash cooled properly to freeze the molecules to its new form. Its called preform. Some peoples problems could be from the brackets . Mine was the bumper.

Like the other guys who tried my fix said . The bumper is like 90 % as the original. I can live with that. The only person who might notice it would be yourself if you know what to look for. You guys know Toyota / Subaru aren't going to fix anything if they could push the problem on us for removing the bumper in the first place. Its going to cost big money to replace god know how many bumpers that are bad.

I mean its just a phone call not hard to do. Plus I showed the area subaru rep and his response was basically too bad for you. Like wtf so what if my car is modded just give me the brackets and I'll install them

ok guys just as mentioned two posts above, he is correct only subaru gives a shit about your car in the tsb world, subaru does have a tsb not only that it's been out since LAST year. so if any subaru dealer says they dont know what your talking about then shame on them and convince them to do the right thing. Of course this does not include Canada sorry. SOA issues tsb's under there own and not other countries. the tsb# 12-139-12.

as to the guy with experience with plastic. they only reason i showed skepticism, is due to the fact of where you live compared to where i live im from texas the only other place hotter than us is surrounding states to the left. im going by what your profile location states.

Just did the speaker wire fix using 18 gauge black wire. I cut 3 pieces for each side to fit over each tab. Looks good but we'll see how it lasts once I take it for a spin.

Has it been staying on for everyone else who did the wire hack?

my drivers side bumper also was popped out after my accident awhile back. even after they replaced the bumper it was still always popped out. i could push it back, but it'd come right back out. a real pain in the ass. i finally took it apart and what i ended up doing was pushing/holding that bracket/plastic piece that goes around the headlight up as much as i could while screwing it in. after that the bumper clicks right in and has sat perfect since then. hope this helps someone else.

Ordered the corner support brackets from http://www.subarupartsamerica.com/pa...rner%20support

I've removed my bumper before and fitment sucks now. I'll be installing Kraftwerks SC kit after these parts come in and I wanted to make sure I could fix this fitment while I have the bumper off.

Cheap fix... $50ish for both sides, shipped.

I just got some blue tape and wrapped it around the bumper tabs because thats whats being shaved off each time you pull the bumper, or just get black tape to make it more subtle. just need to thicken those bumper tabs so it can grip

My fix was pretty extreme but it hasn't failed yet, it's been 6 months. I cut a square hole in the backside of the fender (where the problem clip is) and put a little jb weld where the bumper latches on. Not too much that it can't be removed just enough to hold. Sorry no pictures I'm not taking the bumper off unless it's necessary lol

I acquired a new bumper and still had this issue so I took it to the next level and completely cut off all the mounting tabs on the bumper and installed Quik-Latch minis. Problem solved for good.
