STI hub and brakes on FRS
Hey all.
This was discussed back in 2012 here but I want to revise the issue. We recently ordered new wheels in 5x114.3 and want to get this conversion happening. I know at worst we can use conversion spacers but I have some proof that it's been done an done quite easily. Some of you may know this car: http://www.stancenation.com/2013/06/...ome-toyota-86/ I am close with the owner but unfortunately I don't speak Japanese, nor does he speak english. I was however, able to discuss all of this with his good friend and translator. This was the discussion. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If this is the case, it doesn't sound too troublesome. I wanted to know if anyone has done the conversion since the last post back in 2012. I can get access to all the STI gear, I just need to know what I need. More importantly, if the STI hubs are a direct on to the FRS knuckle.

from what I see in the last picture, it seems there is a spacer of some sort between the hub and wheel? could that be the stud conversion? I know that they sell something like that.

the rotor is the teal colored part. if you look closely, there is something like a spacer inbetween the rotor and rim. though, it might just be a spacer but I have seen a wheel stud conversion that looks like a spacer and gets placed between the rotor and rim. I forgot what the exact name for it was though...

There might be a spacer, but the conversation above is about the car in the picture. It's 100% 114.3 with STI brakes/hubs.

Just because he had the calipers doesn't mean he switched to the STI hubs, as they are a direct bolt on to the FRS hubs. Though The translator did say he switched. So in for more info.
Edit: Definitely looks like a conversion spacer.

That definitely looks like a spacer of some type on there. There are many STI caliper kits available without swapping hubs.
