First impression
Just drove my '15 BRZ 150 miles from dealer to home. It now has 15,888 miles, the PO having the courtesy to take .50 cent per mile depreciation before I got it. IMO, the car has adequate power as is and needs no mods in that department. Gear box and ratios are a delight. I'll have to get used to rowing the car around to avoid the torque hole. That's manageable. Handling...remarkable. Low gravity center and stable suspension are evident. Drives solid as a rock. It's hard to imagine how they can make a car this good for that kind of money. I've been in Miata DD and track cars for the last 180,000 miles, but the turbo Miata will go on the sale block next week. Driver fatigue was noticeably reduced in the BRZ and the roomer cockpit made me much fresher at the end of the drive. It's a keeper.

Seats
My BRZ LTD has ultra-suede surfaces with leatherette trim on the bolsters. I think this is better than the FRSs which have cloth bolsters which are bound to wear after being climbed over for a time.
Question...Is it wise to scotchgard the ultra suede now while it's still like new, or is there a better treatment? |

I've never treated my Alcantara, and after 30k miles it still looks brand new. My leather bolster has small scuffing on the left hem, about the size of a dime. I am generally VERY careful getting in.. but it happens I guess. Lately I tried 303 Aerospace which works well. I used to use leather conditioner. Not sure if the bolster leather is synthetic? So all the toppings have a similar effect. I agree with your comment on the limited trim. I couldn't live with the cloth trim after having this. |

FWIW, I discovered I scrape the bolster a lot less when I have the seat in the lowest position. I'm also getting to like driving it that way.
