I like the design a lot better than the fully under hood pop intakes I've seen on here but it's way overpriced. 200 at the absolute most. AEM needs to knock one of these out real quick.

But why is the maf pass the sound tube and not before as per oem?

It might be due to flow rate characteristics of the intake tube. It might be that there is too much turbulence in the section before the sound tube.

I am just speculating though as I don't have one of those intakes (They do look nice though) and I wasn't following any design threads either. But given the other work put into the design, I would think they positioned the MAF with a good reason behind it.
