looking into upgrading suspension

need some motivation before my bank commits suicide. thinking of front and rear buddyclub control arms with agency sway bars, and some Apexi N1 coilovers with bracing. does anyone already have a full suspension setup with pics? and did you run into anything unexpected?

"search" is what you're gonna get on here...

What purpose/use are you looking for?

Generally, a decent set of coilovers is a good start.

Budget? (important lol)

Hey! Check out "zeal86" thread on the Beatrush bracing products :

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82542

We also can get Buddy Club and Apexi. When it comes to bracing Beatrush is ahead of the game

so the unexpected is if i get full coils, bracing, and the CA's will i need bushings etc or would the stock suspension works good with all these added parts im throwing at it.

simply i have been doing research and reading the forumns just wanting to see if anyone has already done it that is a daily/ weekend track/ functional show car. im not looking for simply bling but something that looks good and performs well.

End result is that i can cut out that black OEM "diffuser" and show off a nice exhaust with a decent looking suspension and at the same time say it works as good as it looks.

Edit!!!
lol budget is something under a grand per part as this is my daily im looking to get good parts but not 3k coils lol hence buddyC's are 4-500 and the apexis were 1200 which is like 1+ paycheck

Looking at that parts list, I have no idea what you're trying to do other than install more parts just so you can say you did. That's fine, street cred or show work is what some are after. Not sure that setup will help daily drive comfort though, if that matters.

Anything else as your goal, I think a bit more research is in order.

If handling is your goal, for what? Street only? Any track or AutoX?

show / street car. but the control arms and the coils are to give me a lower more aggressive stance while also being able to drive everyday while the brace is for when the bumper is cut so you arent just looking at a plain stock rear suspension. Also if i could take it from the shows to being able to drift or do the track is what i want.
if i could get a suspension similar to this in a daily driver to show off id be pretty happy.

KW V1, or RCE T0. Going from show to track to drift is all about the alignment specs and tire choice.

Thank you!! i looked at it and that was really nice setup. the rear beam brace would be perfect for when i cut the bumper.

so im kinda in the same boat as you with having a daily driver hobby show car that looks good and drives better than a stock car.

There is a forum member on here (forgot his name) who has a white out FRS and is running a single exit exhaust without the rear diffuser (similar to the one posted) and I believe some suspension work. Anybody know who I am talking about?

Just to establish my perspective: I don't know how the parts you outlined in your initial post fall as far as performance or quality or comfort - they never made it onto the short-list, and that should say something in and of itself; my build is purely performance to specific classing rules (though my wife required I keep the ride comfortable enough for her to knit on road-trips... which really just means even more investment...)

Driving better than stock and the potential desire to hit a track or drift has me agreeing with the RCE T0 being the place to start. Lots of 'tuner' brands will get rave reviews in the hands of many, but never from a talented driver (and perhaps not the SO either, comfort is often imagined - though it's not like cut springs in a civic either, so maybe it's great for some...)

RacerX has a superb rear LCA that you can order in a custom color. You don't need front arms for performance or alignment (rear is just for alignment, but the RacerX machining is oh-so-nice.)

I'd skip swaybars and front LCA and put money elsewhere to start. You can probably paint them if you want to add a little dress-up without much investment.

You can get there with legit performance parts, but it will cost you a bit more. The parts will probably last longer, ride more comfortably, and sell better later on too - it's a trade-off. Tein's Flex Z is reported to perform really well (and it should be on your list if the drift/race is really just a "maybe, yeah, that sounds fun") but it does so at a great price point by sacrificing the ability to rebuild.

Also, haunt the FS boards - you can get upgraded parts at really good prices quite often.

i appreciate this, for sure i have been watching the FS like a hawk i would have bought alot more but im being patient as im being careful as to what to buy and not just taking the manufactures word for it.

as for the parts i listed id rather throw out what i read mightbe good and have yall say yea they are ok but these are more ideal for the path your taking it.

and are you talking about a dude names anthony?

i like his set up its really clean. i was looking at his and a dude name xlr8evan which i understand is a track car but if i can have the look for street it be a dead on dream lol
