Catted Header or Stage 1 Tune first?

Hey everyone. So I finally decided on what i want.

A catted UEL header and a open flash tablet.

Now currently, I have a axel-back exhaust and drop in filter so i know i could do a tune and go stage 1 with the OFT.

However, I'm wondering on your experiences and opinions, should I do the tune or should i get the catted header first and then tune.

From what i read, the gains fro a stage 1 tune is 10whp?
Gains from a catted uel header is 5whp without a tune?
I see FT86 speed factory got better gains without a tune so not sure with the numbers.

I can't get both at the same time and need to space them out about 1 year. So what gains will make me more happy for that 1 year?

I've found a thread from 2013 with mixed comments, but would like to see what people are saying in 2015

Tune first. The OFT will give you more than just 10 WHP. It's got a lot of features you'll want to take time to get to know before you get your header. Also your car will run better with the OFT and you can play with e85 if you have it in your area (not sure about availability in Canada).

Im in the same boat as the OP and I figured the OFT was a better first thing too. Glad to hear.

I would wait to get the header, then install it and run a stage 2 tune.

I would say get the header first. It won't be a dramatic change without a tune, but it'll help even out the torque dip and generally give more power overall. Also the extra volume makes the car a bit more fun to drive.

What is the good tune in OFT if you have UEL HEADER?

Use the stage 2 UEL that's calibrated for your ecu. I'm very happy with my setup
