Frame and suspension after rear end?

Hey guys, I just got rear ended. My RLH Tire/bumper got hit very very hard. It basically popped right off. The Differential is leaking too.

Its only been a couple of hours, and I'm already worried about the future of this car. Will it drive as nice as it once was? Is the frame as good too?

So that I can move on to another platform.

Probably not totalled, but it looks like it'll need a decent amount of work done.

Dude, just by the pictures you took the frame looks good. If the frame isn't bent, the rest is replaceable.

I'd get insurance to total it and replace the car. Sometimes the frame damage is not apparent until you try to get an alignment done.

you really don't have any say if its totaled or not, and they can measure the frame to see if its bent but there is likely no frame damage there

Technically you shouldn't have a say, but if you speak with the bodyshop doing the damage assessment or the insurance adjuster about your concerns they may help you. Although the body shop has more to gain if it were not totaled.

that's not really true either, it all comes down to whats actually damaged and what the value of the car is. and ive made way more off of cars weve done nothing to.

True story. I've had first hand experience with a car that could have been repaired after damage was assessed but requested that it be totaled as a favor.

Curious how you make more money off a totaled vehicle? Part it out?
