Rear License Plate Frame

So I'm currently rockin the chrome plastic dealer plate frame I got with the car. Went to Pep Boys, and tried to pick out a better frame - left empty handed. Oh they had about 50 to choose from, but aside from a plain chromed one, the rest screamed d-bag!

Flames, tribal, skulls, carbon fiber (not), diamond plating, etc. One looked like a rear diff cover. Others were too horrible to recall.

I might try searching Amazon - I want something "cool design" but understated. Nothing super heavy, or cheap plastic that will break.

Ideas? Ive got tuner frames and college frames on my other cars, and one engraved metal frame. Shoot, maybe I'll do another Cobb frame, but it would be nice to have a Cobb part on my car at least...

Any cool Subaru type frames?

I bought the plain black item from the BRZ parts catalog (P/N SOA342L105) I got with the car. It's not mounted yet as I'm waiting for my plate.

It appears to be a well made item. Powder coated in a matte finish black. Solid feeling with hidden hardware. It even has two spacer washers that have adhesive to stick on the factory inserts and space the whole assembly away from the car so it does not touch and rub on the paint.

The two mounting screws go through a plastic washer with a flex-tab cap that snaps over the head of the screw to cover and provide a nice clean look.

Sorry no pics.

This is the setup I use for the plates on my cars.

Simple and black:

Just make sure to give it a good coat of wax because it will haze up over time.

Use the rattle stops on the bottom two holes:

And cap all the bolts with these for a clean look:

Why even use one?
I Haven't on my last 4 cars.

If you wanna hang with the cool kids, illest/hellaflush/fatlace frames on a stock car always looks fantastic....

I plan on using my 'chrome' frame of my school - doesn't look too bad seeing as my car is Argento (silver)

but I do like the clean walmart $4. frame haha

I've got a plain-jane black metal frame like the one pictured, however to make it look "prettier" I gorilla-glued the screw caps over top of the bottom two screw holes, since we don't have any. Makes it look cleaner than the empty missing screw areas. Oh, and little sticky rubber feet from radio shack stuck to the bottom of my license plate to avoid any "smackage." The factory foam didn't do the trick for me.

I picked up this stainless steel one recently: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...ries_6360032-p

Pretty happy with the look...I think the chrome matches the badges nicely. At first I picked one up that only had the screws on top, and the plate would rattle loudly against the frame when you closed the trunk. This one works much better and I got this rattle stop thing for the bottom screws: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...ies_10025815-p

Walmart $4 "Smoke Bubble" frame. Or NAPA "UNbreakable Smoke Bubble" frame $10. Looks excellent IMO
